getting fillings are not on the top of my list, it is not pleasant, but in a same time it should not be painful. The best thing is to tell your dentist that you never had fillings before and that you are scared. This will help him/her customize your care. Everyone is different, some people don't even take anesthetic, and others stay sensitive for a while. Always give the treating Doctor heads p so they can treat you best. Good luck.

People say they don't hurt but I think they do.
I think they hurt like maybe a 5 or a 6.
Then there is this disgusting smell and this irritating sound that makes it a miserable experience.
I think everyone is different. If your dentist is good it shouldn't be so bad.

The only thing that hurts is the injection of the anesthetic. This numbs the area, so you won't feel pain.

They may hurt a little. Your dentist should give you novacain and ask for laughing gas. It makes it so much better. I got 6 crowns put on a couple months ago and I didn't feel a thing I was on so much novacain and laughing gas.

The only thing that hurts is the novacane injection, and it's just a pinch. The drilling feels wierd, but it doesn't hurt.

No, they numb your mouth before they get started. What hurts is your eardrums when you hear the drill going "wzzzzzzzzzzz" :-)
