There's no polite way. Just say "I am living in sin".

Unless someone comes right out and asks you if you live with anyone, then there is no reason to offer that information. If someone does point blank ask you if you live together, then just say "yes we do". In this day and age, it's really no ones business what you do in your private life. God be with you.

I always kept referring to him by name instead of title such as Joe and I live on Main St or just referred to him as my better half/ partner in crime. Some people still asked but most didn't.

When did that phrase become such an issue? I guess it depends on the situation you have. If you're so afraid to say it, you can just say ' I live with someone else', or ' We share an apartment together'.

Tell it straight out. People can tell when you are trying to hide it. It comes out in your facial expressions and actions. Your boyfriend may also be hurt by this.

I have had people introduce their boyfriends as "friends." Too obvious.

just be straight forward and saying "my boyfriend, his name, we living together. honestly, if he means alot to you, you shouldn't worry about it. i know around the grandparents it may be odd for them, but my grandparents love my boyfriend. we've lived together for 3 yrs i believe. heck, we went to hawaii and stayed at my grandparents time share for 1 wk, we did respect them and stayed in separate rooms though. its 2006, things change.

Simply put, you don't. there is no need to introduce your boyfriend this way. You don't say "This is Harry, the man I am living with." You simply say, "This is Harry."
