Don't get plasma if you play video games or if you keep the same image on the screen( paused images)for an extended period of time. The images will 'burn in' to the screen. I have an LCD and it's great.

There are pluses and minuses for both. A recent Consumer Reports (probably available at your local library) has recently written about the LCD vs. plasma issue. Also, pcworld.com has information on the question.

Plasma, no distortion to the sides. Prices are expected to drop by 30% in the next year.
