LENNON - you may want to go back and look up the stats, most are not black and poor and the education level for the majority is equivlant to civilians if not higher. consider that you have some who join that have no college but go when they are in service. your facts are dead wrong on the educational level, the financial and social status. shame on you for lying like that to make a point.

LENNON - funny how you call bush a coward when he's the only one out of the last two administrations that did anything about terrorists. clinton was bought off and bush, sr. didn't act when he should thats what i call being a coward.

As always you have the thought provoking questions. I agree with your question and comments along with Monizk and Heartstrings. I have my own opinions but I will not go into them as they are fairly long.
As a general rule I don't debate politics and religion or argue with drunks, fools or idiots. Too many of them have lots of experience of spouting ill informed rhetoric.
I support Bush and what the military is now doing. I don't want Kerry or Clinton representing me. They are of the same mold and are an embarrassment to the people they are supposed to represent. They apologize but are they truly apologetic?

Kerry's statement was no where close to the truth, nor was it a "joke". Kerry said exactly what he meant to say in clear and plain English. I've seen the transcript of the speech and there's no reference to Bush or the White House. That was just a piss poor way of trying to cover what an idiot he is. Now, the troops are speaking back. More power to them. We have some of the finest, well trained and educated military personnel in the world.

If his comment was just an accident and his apology was so heartfelt, why has his own party turned their back on him?? Yes, for those of you defending him, his own party doesn't want him speaking any more before the elections. He was supposed to be on the campaign trail making speeches for fellow Dems running for office. Those appearances have now been CANCELLED. For those of you idiots who thought it was funny or just a mistake, that should tell you something. The military didn't take is as a joke and neither did his own party. Oh, and don't forget, he nominated himself for those Purple Hearts. All for a splinter in his butt no less. I'm sure that's a proud moment. He hates the military and always has. That's why he submitted himself for those awards so he could have the shortest tour in Vietnam and then return home to join the protesters and throw his decorations away.

This isn't his first swipe at the military, but it just might be his last. Let's see if the American people listen to the message our troops sent Kerry in that photo!!

lennon3804 is a moron much as kerry is. if i didnt know any better i would say lennon 3804 is about as radical as john lennon and that guys was more of a moron then john kerry. at least kerry was in the vietnam war (not saying much about the guy).
what we need in this world is to send all liberals to iraq and teach them a thing or two about the world today. its not some place that can be controled by "talks". since the liberals are so all knowing im sure when they hit the sand in iraq the insurgents will be happy to have coffee and tea and talk about how we can just end this war by painting pretty pictures and holding hands. hopefuly for the liberals sake they get the word hello out before there heads are chopped off by the very people that they swear can be controlled by talks.

our military is a volunteer force. i dont understand you liberals who believe that you are doing any troop stationed anywhere a favor by speaking your less than inteligent views. anyone who believed that bush wasnt going to go to war with iraq is a moron. his dad (bush sr) began this mission and when clinton got into office he ****** everything up. as soon as i saw bush was running i said "good now we can finish business with iraq" this was before 911.
bush doesnt need to appologize for his actions hes the president of the united states. and if you want to agree with it or not he was voted by the people of the united states.

If Mr. Kerrys comments were the truth then how come ALL officers have to have a college degree to become officers?

I think he doesn't know what he's talking about because all of the soldiers left very good jobs to go over there and fight the war...I think they are very smart and Kerry should make a formal apology...although I don't know what made him say something so stupid in the first place

Kerry's comment, while stupid, was apologized for, and incidently IS NOTHING compared to what our current a**wipe president has done to the troops. So everybody, don't get it twisted. Kerry made a huge blunder...A huge one ...But let's put it in perspective...He was trying to tell a horrible joke to make fun of the president..It sounded like he was implying you get stuck in Iraq if you are not educated....Although true...As 95% of people their are poor and have high school diploma's...But they are heroes...and the bravest....They are not ...cowards, (like our President and Vice President)...
But keeping screw ups in perspective..Which is worse to offend people by being a horrible speaker(Kerry)....or To get 3,008 young American heroes killed in Iraq by accidentally invading the wrong country because your intelligence is bad....
Furthermore...All of us wanted Kerry to apologize for his gaffe...Immediately....
