Yes I do think that sleeping with someone on the first date shows a lack of self respect and loose morals. You are fortunate that your relationship has lasted for 4 years as most do not. If a girl will sleep with you or anyone on a first date you have to kind of ask yourself how many times has she done so in the past.

My wife of over seven years and I wound up having sex the night of our first date. Actually, I had dropped her off at her friends house after the date (where she left her car), went home, and twenty minutes later she showed up at my door. It's okay for women to be sexually active (as long as they're responsible - i.e. use protection), and it's societies problem if they're viewed as sluts or worse. If a guy beds lots of girls, he's a stud, but if a woman beds with lots of guys, well, she's loose and a tramp, or worse. Why? If the two of you are happy and comfortable together, and share the element of trust, then why not be together.

Not one bit. I met a girl my senior year of college. We went out on a date and I really liked her. She really liked me. We slept with each other four days after we met. She said she really wanted to sleep with me. We fell in love with each other. She was my first love, and I'll never forget her. If she wasn't an exchange student there is no doubt we would be married. It's not wrong at all. I you love each other it doesn't matter how soon you slept together. We were truly in love with each other.

Sorry ... quck and loose just doesn't do it for me.
Also, while I don't hold anybody to a standard, I think that this business of referring to men who are quick to romp as 'studs' and women who do the same thing as 'sl...ts' is pretty hypocritical as well.
That which two people choose to do together is wholly between them. While I admit the possibilities to the contrary, I would not choose anything meaningful with a woman whose main claim to fame was having been had by every man she ever met.
These are simply images you give me when I think of sex between strangers.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with sexual gratification. If someone wants to have sex when you first meet, fine, have raunchy intercourse all night. But when deciding about the ethical properties of an individual, how promiscuous they are should be taking into consideration.

Your girlfriend is a lucky girl, you are an exception. Anyway, come on there are alot of guys out there just waiting for an easy ahem...and h the girl might read more into it and it could end out being hurtful to her.
How many frogs would she have to kiss to find her prince?
It's just not worth it. You must love yourself enough to hang on to your self respect.

I think if the chemistry is there and the two parties agree thats what they want, then it should be ok. Society has this way of making it ok for men, but not for women. I think that you should definately get to know a person, however that should not stop you from being passionate with that person.

Ok, so things worked out for you......good....but most people that have sex right away tend to look at each other as sexual objects and not people....so it's not just the woman that is in danger of being classified as ssslut....the guy be looked upon too as good for one thing.
