My husband and I were married June 2005. I was 22 and my husband was 21. The wedding alone, not including the honeymoon cost us about $8000.00 Once you included the honeymoon we spent about $12,000.00 We paid for everything ourselves, and that's why we were engaged for two years rather than the more traditional one. Weddings are really expensive and we penny pinched BIG TIME. Good Luck and congratulations:)

We got married in June.
Had very little to spent (baby came 4 weeks ago) so the costs were.
Registry office £95 or something (cant remember properly but you could check locally to you)
My outfit : £170 - Suit, shoes, shirt, cufflinks
Her outfit: £250 ish - Dress, shawl, headpiece, shoes
Taxi - in-laws paid
Drinks at reception £95 ish
Rings £900 (hers) + £400 (mine) platinum - v. nice!
Honeymoon - 1 night in country hotel with dinner in Michelin ** restaurant £350.
We really did do it on the chap though as we've lived together for years and had just bought a new house 2 weeks before the wedding!
Good luck.
Remember, you should have a wedding to get a marriage, not have a marriage to get a wedding.

My wedding dress was just below my bum, it was white with lace sleeves and a little pleat in front in case i was pregnant. [ Mu mother had it made for me and she was very suspicious] i was not pregnant though. We had a small party at parents home, went back to our flat and to work the next day. I was 18 turning 19 and would not advise anyone to get married that young. By the time i was 23 i had three kids, no life and was given a historectomy. THANK GOD. One advantage my kids are all working now and i can do as i please once i get over my scaredy-catness. Our wedding cost about R100.00 propably about fifty pounds. I don't regret not having a huge wedding, i personally think it is a waste of money and have told my kids should they ever get married i will rather furnish their homes than waste money on people you see only in a blue moon:)))

Our wedding cost about £8,000 thats 5 years ago. I was 27 when I got married. We got a lot of presents which included a cake from my aunt. wedding car from my uncle, Dad paid for the band. parents in law paid for some of our honeymoon. flowers were done by a friend of the family so we got a discount there. a friend did the DJ for free. got our wine imported from France for a fraction of the price.
All these things would have cost a lot of money so it was great to get them as presents.

We had a really small wedding that didn't really cost us much because we asked everyone to give us money or vouchers. We got married a last September and it was the most wonderful day of my life. I was 27 and he was 36. We are very happy and really enjoying married life.

Just married September 23rd (2006)
we are both 23
our wedding cost us a little under $5,000
It was the best day ever, we did it without spending a fortune, but spent enough to get everything we wanted, and then some. :)

The first time I got married I was 18 and it cost £3,500. The second time I got married I was 25 and it cost around £600 the third time I got married I was 31 and it cost £5,000 - so I don't know how this helps you but there you are.

At 40, 2 months ago. It was great and cost around £5000 for 100 people. This included the venue, Brighton Pavilion, lunch at a lovely restaurant, hire of club venue and gorgeous buffet food. We had quite a few friends who did stuff for us: invitations, rings, cake, bands and DJs so had a great do! Get friends involved, that's my advice, keeps it cheaper and more special.
