The Christians give respect to Jesus that is true but do the muslims not give respect to Jesus more than the Christians?
Muslims do respect Jesus more than the christians as they never say Jesus like the christians do'when ever the muslims are taking the name of Jesus they say JESUS (peace be upon him) Although according to Islam the messenger of God who bought Islam from God to this world was Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) but muslims still believe that deniel of one true holy prophet is the deniel of all the prophet like if anyone does not believe in jesus or mosess even then he is not a true muslim .Now see the christians believe that jesus was killed by the jews and the muslims respect and love jesus so why do the christians hate muslims more than they hate jews if they know all that than WHY do they hate the lovers of the jesus more than the killers of him?And one more thing that Muslims do also believe that Jesus will come back to earth again and they are waiting for him.

I think asking the Father to give Jesus peace isn't to the point that Christians revere Jesus.. We don't see Him as a mere prophet but as God in Human flesh. Do you hold His that high? Jim

In the US, there aren't very many Muslims. Perhaps most Christians don't know what true Muslims believe. Some have probably heard bad rumors about the Muslim religion. And maybe that is why some Christians hate Muslims.

Showing respect to Jesus Christ can be expressed in a muliplicity of ways. One does not have to mindlessly repeat 'peace be upon him' to show respect.

Christ taught that the best way to honor him was to keep his commandments, and to teach people about him. So, is the person who states "Jesus 'peace be upon him'" and then goes out and fornicates, lies cheats and steals better than the person who humbly follows the teachings of Christ? How does stating a simple phrase, no matter how respectful, more significant than action?

As for respecting the Jews, Christ taught forgiveness. When he was hanging on the cross, he prayed that the Father forgive those who crucified him, "for they know not what they do." The principle of forgiveness is an essential part of the Christian faith and necessary for salvation. Along with this, Christians believe that even though Christ was treated horribly by the Jews, his divine mission as savior of the world was fufilled in part thru his suffereing at the hands of the Jews. And remember, it was not all Jews who crucified Christ, it was a small group who wanted him dead.

As to why Christians 'don't respect' Muslims, this needs to be taken out of a religous context. Certian sects of Islam have come out and declared war on the West, and on Chirstianity. As a rule I don't think all Muslims are bad, but if you blow yourself up in the name of your God, and for the purpose of killing innocent people, that is not worthy of any respect, only scorn and shame. If moderate Muslims are tired of being disrespected in the world, they need to stand up, show the world what they are made of, condem violence and terrorism. Muslims extreimists have melded their religous beliefs with their political ideology, and that is what has gained them the disrespect of the world, and because moderate Muslims have done little or nothing, they are lumped in with the bad ones.

That is not a question of respect - it is a question of how you were raised. We capitalize 'Jesus" out of respect - just like we capitalize 'Lord', etc. In Islamic culture, it is respectful to capitalize all the letters in the name, but in English, it is respectful to capitalize just the first letter.

There are cultural differences. For example, it is disrespectful for a Muslim woman to look directly in the eyes of a man who is not related to her. My mother was English and she would have given me a good whipping if I did NOT look directly at the person speaking - regardless of whether they were a man or a woman.

No disrespect is intended.

I can't speak for all Christians, but I do not hate Muslims. My husband is Muslim. I do not hate Jewish people.
