God had to have a way to be 100% God and still save mankind. His justice has to be 100% satisfied. His mercy needs to be 100% satisfied. His love, His faithfulness...Every attribute needs to be 100% satisfied. This was His plan to do this. I can't think of another way can you? Are you wiser than God almighty? Lets hear it.. How to do it and still have His be true to Himself... Jim

No, it doesn't, for the old manner of getting forgiveness of sin was being superseded by the evil imaginations of a man's heart. They could sacrifice and animal, then party it up the rest of the time because hey, it's just an animal! But, with a Deified man willing to die for all sin of all time, it made the effects of salvation more powerful for those that CHOSE to accept it! Instead of having to have a priest atone for us with a bull, we could seek our own salvation and relationship with God through following Acts 2:38's plan of salvation and LIVING a sanctified life thereafter. The fact that God is omnipotent had nothing to do with the amount of compassion he has for the fallen nature of man. There was a realized need for a more powerful and more meaningful sacrifice, hence the necessity of Christ coming into the world by a virgin birth and living a sanctified life. Had Christ been born the normal way, He wouldn't have qualified to be the sacrifice for sin because He would've been born under tha sin-curse that God placed on man after the fall at Eden! His sacrifice was foretold in the Scripture that says, "For he was wounded for our TRANSGRESSIONS, bruised for iniquities (sin). The CHASTISEMENT (punishment) of (for our) peace was UPON HIM." This way, His omnipotence could reach across the ages before he was even born! How else can you explain a passage written in the PAST TENSE so many years in ADVANCE of His birth?

You have a good point friend, to let me answer your question. Please keep in mind in order for you to fully understand you have to keep an open mind. Shift your views if for a second to what I am saying so you may see my perspective.

First God is more than just Omnipotent he is also Omniscient, and Omnipresent.

I will only speak logically as you have brought up logic as your thinking cap.

Logically speaking if there is a God possessing all these qualities he cannot make a mistake. Because he is after all, all knowing all present and perfect in every way.

So taking this into the equation into the realm of logic and applying it he chooses to give man choice, which means that man can make mistakes. Let’s talk about the first mistake of man.

This was the fall of Adam. God gives man a choice and man chooses to sin. Sin being anything opposite the nature of God. When this occurs God has to punish man because his rule is if you sin there has to be to punishment. This he does, this is why we are under sin.

Still he wants to rejoin man to God. The only way to remedy that would be to have a perfect sacrifice or to put it more logically for you a propitiation of God's wrath. This has been the rule since the beginning of scriptures.

He starts to set this standard for man by showing him what he needs to be done. He asks for an offering( lamb, and other animals in the Jewish culture) This does not really reverse the mistake that man made he is just doing this to show them (over thousands of years) what he needs in the future to reverse the condition of sin that has been placed because of Adam's sin.

Now we come to your answer.. In order for a perfect God to have atonement for sin. Meaning someone has to be sacrificed for the sin that man committed. So he needs a perfect sacrifice. That sacrifice is Christ aka God. In love he sacrifices himself.

The reason he NEEDS this is because if you read the old testament you will notice some important qualities of God. One is that he is Unchanging. He does not change. Since he does not change when he sets a rule he does not go back to the drawing board and then say "o I should change this" since he does not do that when he made the rule that any sin has to be atoned with a sacrifice, that being a perfect sacrifice. The Jewish people did not realize that this meant actually "perfect".

That perfect sacrifice can only be God himself. Since only God is perfect and God alone because the rest of creation is under sin. In Exodus God says to Moses " no man can see me, if they do they will surely die". He says this because if a man sees the entirety of God he will die. He set this rule in Exodus or more that it’s a reality. So in order to be that sacrifice he has to limit himself in power to be human so that he can be that perfect sacrifice.

Hope that answers some of your question really if you need more e-mail me because I can write a few books on this subject.

That is correct but God is also true. Meaning He does not go against himself and His law which is His spoken Word. That would make him a liar and false. If He chooses to make the punishment for being diobedient to Him (sin) be death (which he did) then that's just the way it is (Remember He's Omnipotent). Now why he made that the punishment only He knows but he will never go against his decreed Word.

He "needs" to sacrafice His son simply because in His Omnipotent self he choose it to be that way. You get it? Now why that is I have no idea (I'm not allknowing He is)

You're forgetting the purpose of the sacrifice. It was to save us. In His omnipotence He could have at any time stopped the proceedings and gone on His merry way, leaving us to eternity in hell.

He gave His life to be the perfect sacrifice for us. To pay the penalty for our sins and to give us the gift of being able to go to heaven.

If you could stop something so horrible from happening to you, would you have the strength not to, if it meant saving someone else?

No offense meant to anyone of different religion and beliefs.

ahh the ultimate sacrifice. To show love and mercy towards us. You wouldnt believe in a God that sacrificed some dude that he met the other day across the street while mowing the lawn. Instead he made a sacrifice of importance, of great value "his son" The great thing about that was that his son was ok with it he knew that his purpose in life was to die and still he went forth with it - he lead a great life with purpose and sanctity. He was holy and yet he gave his life for us. You see he loves us so much that he shows us everyday who he is, he wants us to serve him and even though he has virtual unlimited authority and influence over us, he is respectful and a gentlemen, he wants us to go to him because we choose to, (its not fun worshiping someone that makes us worship). Its a comlicated concept but my answer along with a bunch of these other ones that you have and will have, will help you will find a concrete anwer that will clarify your question.

To answer the challenge from the devil that nobody could worship Faithfully |the Devil unselfishly whilst Satan is in control of the earth.
Like faithful Job who was not perfect we can be tested and prove Satan a liar.
Jesus had to offer up a perfect life to buy back what Adam had lost , in harmony this is with god's justice. John the baptist declared upon seeing Jesus. " See ! The lamb of god,, that takes away the sin of the world ! "

I don't believe God has to forgive anything. God doesn't recognize sin, because sin is an imagined action that separates us from what we can not be separate from. Yeah I'd say the act of sacrificing your child to appease yourself is utterly illogical.

It represents that God is humble and loving.

We humans usually exploit when in power and go begging when powerless.

But humans who truly love God learn to accept and respect not only power but also the truth of powerlessness.

Don't go by the exterior looks. External beauty is only skin deep. It is when you delve deeper that you'll start realizing the TRUTH.
