That whole passage indicates that God will be with us through the hard times and the good even when where not faithful he will carry us those are his footprints carrying the person its like my daughter falling and getting hurt i cant always take the pain away but i can be there through the pain and love her during her hurting time and pray she has learned her lesson. The reason we go through things over and over and over repeating the same mistakes is because we have not learned what God has taught us the first time.

sure HE was.. er, maybe I am thinking of that Adam and Eve gig.. I think He was fully clothed.. like had a white gossamer type robe.. (He tossed his earthsandals over across the sand dunes and pow... hit Eve I think it was..) Adam? he was too flipped out about the snake thing (and HE was like at the other end of the beach.) Who was the dude on the beach I am wondering now? later- man

I think so... shoes on the beach makes about as much sense as a screen door on a submarine.

You crack me up! I'm not sure about the barefoot part, but I still wonder how a "spirit" would make an imprint of any kind...puzzling! :)
