We have 4 kids, ages 18, 17, 16 and 13. Two boys and 2 girls. Never, never never spank your children. Think about what you're ingraining in them. When you hit them, you're saying: solve your problems with violence. We never spanked our kids and they are all incredibly great secure individuals. Violence begets violence.

I do believe that spanking is bad if it is done in an uncontrolled fashion. My son was spanked about 10 time in his life (he is 30) I always used my hand. I made him lean over my leg and he never knew if the hand would come down 2 or if it would come down 3 times. This was for very serious situations. For the most part he had to sit on the couch. At one point I would send him to his room and he would just lay on the bed and read a book I soon found out that did not bother him. That is why we went to the couch. we had no TV and he could not read. time has to do with age and offense

first off i am for it if all else has failed! second there is a difference between beating your child and spanking them!! maybe some people cross the line into beating but most dont. my sister and i were spanked as children and now i am 24 i hold nothing against my parents for it i turned out fine no emotional issues no problems...... so i guess it depends on if you cross that line into beating.

I am for it if time out is not working. There is a difference between spanking and beating. I am all for spanking, but some people take it too far.

i am for spanking if u do it and a reasonible way i spank my son on the hand not hard but enough to where he understands im doing that because he is doing something wrong hes only 9 mnths and i try not to do it often but i do, do it and let him know y i am doing it..for example..he grabs something that he can break and step on or cut his hand with i spank him and tell him no i also tell him i love u and i dont want u to get hurt i know he doesnt understand know but i do believe if i repeat this he will sooner or later understand the reason

Against. Deterimental to a child's well being. Phychologically damaging. Causes so many problems in later life and there are much better ways of dealing with a problem.

I am for spanking kids. You shouldn't spank them real hard, but enough to let them know that they should mind. Because if you don't let them know to be good, when they get older they'll think your playing and will not listen to what you say. Let them know that you mean what you say.

I am for them. If a child never get punishment then they grow up to be heathens. I have 4 kids an though they have only had one or two in their whole life it makes them remember that you are the boss. If not they will walk all over you.

Im not for like beating your kids but like spanking their hand when they touch something bad and spanking thim if they need it but not for like beating you r kids heck no

If they smack you first, stern "no" then a tap the same place they hit you. Mind you if you consider you husband as a child, then, give it go!
