Everyone, poor and rich used warm water, that was boiled on the fire.
Soap was made out of fat with a little bit of acid or alkaline (today they use bicarb soda), maybe a touch of lemon or lye etc.
Hair was also rinsed in many plant waters or oils, whereby flowers where left in oil in order for it to absorb the flowers fragrance.
Hair combs where sculpted out of horn and bone.
Very rough techniques, and this was all done maybe once a month or every few weeks.

deifintely not offten but usually they would infuse water with roses, lavendar, or other sweet smelling herbs and flowers.

Then they began to make lye soap.

Women often washed their hair with oils from the times of Egyptian Pharoahs to the present

They did make their own soap, but it was lye based. They didn't wash their hair often, which is why they wore flowers in their hair!

There are roots and flowers the foam like a soap, and I also think that they made their own soap. Soap is not a "new" invention.
