He already proved in the last presidential election that he did not have a mind of his own. The only thing he is sure about is that he hates President Bush. While he is entitled to his opinion it does not project a unified picture to the other countries. Whether you like the President or not, you have to at least admire the fact that he stands by his decisions even if they are not popular. Can Senator Kerry say that? I am a military Mom whose only child served in Iraq last year. The military will not take in those who fail the ASVAB. That is the intelligence test given to all applicants. I also read the statements that Senator Kerry was supposed to have said and even if he did not mean to call the soldiers idiots and un-educated he did so by calling the current administration idiots, as most of them are former soldiers. Hopefully by making this current blunder it will eliminate him from another run for the White House.

As a veteran with the 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, I am offended by any American who believes that statements of such serve some kind of legitimate purpose. Nearly all members of the military are High School graduates and a large number of them have college degrees or college credits. Obtaining rank in the military is dependant on your education in college and the knowledge of your MOS (military occupation skill).

One small correction! Kerry replaced right into a naval officer, for which side is quite a lot in debate. the great winner interior the Kerry hoopla is Hillary. It style of sounds like she dropped a dime on Obama along with his land deal returned in Illinois. it style of feels that he and Rezko, a political hack who labored for Blow dry Blogo, the Governor of IL, and who's below indictment for bribe taking, is a around the corner neighbor of Obama. There seems to be like some thing incredibly stinky on the subject of the full deal, and while the air clears, we'd locate Mr. sparkling denims ain't so sparkling in spite of everything. stay tuned! Hillary could be the winner, as quickly as returned!

Gee, what in the world is he doing -- The US Military is the ONLY Professional Service that is ALL VOLUNTEER -- and requires of its Management Corps (in other words, Officers) to have College Degrees (yes, Plural -- because as you reach middle ranks, most have or are working towards Master's Degrees or beyond).
Kerry is a disgrace -- and what he said just goes to show how ARROGANT and out of touch he is with reality. He needs to just QUIT -- Quit opening his mouth, quit letting his Prejudice and HATE (Traitor!) out, and just disappear from public notice.

Another Radical Republican Extremist, that is not what he said.
It is true that most soldiers are from middle class familys who can't afford to send them to college. However if they live to get out of there and get help with college probably will do more with it.
They are not rich spoiled brats who won't even appreciate an education. Face it most are 17, 18, 19 By that time you hardly have time to be a doctor or a lawyer or a politician.
Not to say they won't when they get out.

I believe that his picture should be placed in the dictionary next to the word Idiot. He qualifies even if he only botched his "joke." By doing so, he only made himself more of a joke.

it was very disturbing to me and my husband (Air Force) when we watched it, its not surprising though, kerry has never been pro military, only 30% of the military voted for him ( which is disturbing by itself) even if he didn't mean it like that, thats the way it came out

It was a Freudian slip from the man who, when he returned from Vietnam, called his fellow soldiers rapists, baby killers, warmongers, and pillagers.

I don't think he meant to be aimed at the soldiers. He meant for it to be aimed towards the administration. They didn't do their homework or study the situation before starting the war and now they're stuck there. It was a very poorly stated joke or statement or whatever he claims it to be.
