i met a man about 2 yrs ago and we've become friends. he is in another relationship but seems to express certain feelings for me like if i'm not feeling well he will call and checkup on me, if i'm having personal troubles he is interested in knowing. he is gentle and sweet with me. how do i know if this is genuine or he is just a smooth talker out to get his cake n eat it too??

After two years of gentle, sweet, close friendship, if he hasn't put a move on you he might be gay? Straight guys usually don't have female ( just friends ) just various level girlfriends they haven't slept with yet. For most guys two years is very long time to invest in stringing a potential sex partner along. But to answer your first question, friends can become lovers and have a long lasting relationship.

sure friends can be lovers! but he's in a relationship. Does he talk about his girlfriend with you as well? or acts like he doen't even have a girlfriend? if he does this with you then how do you know he wont talk to other girls when he's in a relationship with you. I think you should just be friends and then when he's free, you can see where the relationship leads.

you're human 4 having feelings 4 another man but he's got a women so it's real F'd up that you'd let him sneak around with you. I don't have advice 4 u because u don't deserve it.if he has a problem wit his women knowning about u she will never know. and you shouldn't be there with him. try and stop your feelings n find sum1 that can give all himself 2 u.

If he is sticking with his girlfriend, he cares for you as a friend. Don't give him any cake, unless he dumps his girlfriend and pursues a relationship with you.

you know....i could almost say my husband went with that approach. i met him at a party 4 years ago. he was dating a friend of mine. then i dated friends of his. he dated more friends of mine. and we called each other, whined about how our dates were treating us. then one day we got really really drunk (okay, i got really really drunk) and i haven't left his house since. we are now married, and having a baby. who knew?

however....do keep in mind he is stringing another girl along. so if he was really all that smitten, he would have dropped the girl to persue you.
