Neither. God alone has the last say so. Not America. Not Taliban. OR any other place in this world. God is Forever and Always. Alpha and Omega. Beginning and End. Let God rule the Heart. NOT MAN!

Both sound unpleasant to me. As an Asatruar, my faith and my ancestors are very important to me. However I also know that many christians and muslims don't exactly follow their own religion and because I don't agree/worship with them - well, they think I'm a bad person. It's called 'extremism'. Human nature being what it is, I'm afraid people like myself would once again be fighting for our very existence. While Asatru has a very 'leave me alone and I'll leave you alone' ideal when it comes to Gods and Goddesses, christianity and islam either lack this or they simply don't follow the rules.

On second thought, I think Islam is supposed to respect other faiths. It's just some of them simply do not do this. Some Christians also seem to have an issue with the whole 'live and let live' concept. And that's where you get problems.

I'd rather be ruled by mine own self with the guidance of my Gods. And see all other faiths allowed the same respect, of course.

For now we are still some what protected for the Christian fundamentalists by the constitution but that can only last so long before bush makes is obsolete. So I would say us, because the Muslims never had a base which separated church and state. They started with their laws being church laws, but look at how the Christians are now forcing their beliefs on the U.S. people. And soon we will be under a fascist Christian regime rule, so just enjoy your freedoms until CC's (Christian Collation ) comes banging on yur door to rid the nation of Heathens, infidels, criminals, and other Unsavory people.

Proud American doesn't know who the Taliban is!!? I guess it takes all kinds--but, the uneducated scare me the most.

I am as scared of the Christians (the Evangelical ones) as I am of the Taliban. Now, I wouldn't mind moderate Muslims as the government. They did a fabulous job in Moorish Spain. The art, philosophy, medicine, mathematics, architecture, street lights on paved streets (while London had mud hole streets at the time, with garbage thrown in it), beautiful gardens, and I could go on and on. This was called the Golden age of Spain.

The three religions-Christianity, Judaism, and Islam lived side by side in peace. It doesn't sound so bad to me. It sounds better than the Evangelicals, who are trying so hard to take over and change our Laws and Constitution to meet their ends.

Harpman,
I'll say that in current times, no religion should rule. The RCC ruled for a while as the Official Church of the State in Europe. And things did not go well.

The Muslims? We can see what they do when they get power, it's in the newspapers every day.

Example, TODAY 11 / 02 / 2006 Thursday PST;

The US, is a nation founded on Judeo-Christian principals, but not the Christian faith, nor is it governed by a religous theocracy, like Iran. There is not offical religion in the US, and the government is forbidden to endorse one religon over another, or to establish a religon.

The Taliban and other Islamic radical regimes force their people to believe as they do, to act and conduct their lives based on a very narrow misinterpretation of Islam. The Taliban is an unchecked menace in this world, which oppresses free speech, thought and women's rights.

So to answer your quesion, I'd take the secular US, with all of its problems over the Taliban any day. I'd rather have the freedom to choose how I live my life than someone elses' choice forced upon me.

Asking people to choose between christian domination versus muslime domination is like asking them to choose between AIDS and cancer.

Atheism is not a disease, it is an absence of disease. It's a better way to live AND a better way to die (i.e. old age).

And to "DKlyde", the only difference between christ-stains and muslimes is what they can get away with. What muslims are doing today is the exact same thing christians did from the crusades until the Inquisition. Both religions are equally murderous.

What's best is to think for yourself and not by either of these groups. And you can't say all Muslims are Taliban...I don't care for either group.
