Either squeeze a lemon, or use lemon squash such as Robinson's.
For both put the juice in a mug, fill the rest of the mug with hot water (like if you were making tea) and then just stir in a teaspoon or two of honey.
Easy as that!
An alternative is hot milk and honey - just heat the milk in a pan or in the microwave and stir in the honey.

well indian remedy tastes lovely
Boil some water, add some lemon juice to it or in the cup and a bit of honey, stir and drink.... another one is add a bit of ginger in the cup and let it rest for a bit for the ginger to diffuse its taste, its alright but the best is just the honey and lemon great for when youve got a cold, or just a substitute for having soup all the time, hope it helped (",)

No secrets...honey, depending on how sweet, good squeeze of fresh lemon juice and water from the kettle, just like you would make a tea or coffee. If your old enough, add a brandy...now that really helps you sleep !!!

I go with Spiegy's recipe.
The old Scottish technique for a hot whisky toddy cold cure is to go to bed with the toddy and a bowler hat. Place the bowler hat at the bottom of the bed, and yourself and the toddy at the top. Take a sip of the toddy and look at the hat. If there is one hat, repeat the previous step until there are two!
