Yes and it was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. My ex and I were together for 5 years and I wanted to break it off cause we never dated anyone else but each other and wanted to give it a try. Well, I've been "trying" that for 3 years now and still haven't found anyone that makes me as happy as he once did. Crosses my mind everyday. And now we have spent so much time apart and became such different people that things just wouldn't be the same again.

Yes. It is not easy, but there is no sense in being in a relationship that just isnt' right. It is best to be honest about it if you feel that you have tried to overcome whatever reason you have for breaking up with her and it just isn't happening. Sometimes being with someone just becomes a habit and as all habits are hard to break. Be kind, honest and gentle, that's all you can do.

Yes, in fact I did it couple of days ago.I thought about it a lot and decided that it was detrimental 2 her a lot if we continue this relation.Trust me, I had a lot of pain doing so but I still made it up as bcoz I really loved her and wanted her 2 be happy. So, love can`t be so selfish 2 get the loved one even at the cost of her happiness, ........Go ahead...U r doing correct

Yes, but you do what you have to do. It will break her heart too by you staying in a relationship with her and you dont want her anymore.
Let it go Dude, so the 2 of you can be happy again.

I broke up with a boyfriend that I really cared a lot about because he had gotten involved in drugs and I could not find myself living that kind of life.

i have actually not had the discomfort of doing that. but i have had it happen to me. its Very heartbreaking but if you sit down and talk to the person, it makes it a lot easier.... for both of you. i know i wish HE would've sat down and told me the truth. but because he didnt, i held on linger than i shouldve and it hurt me so much.

No, but the best way is to do it gently, and request friendship, or state whats wrong and wait for improvement.
