I think it's because they are so narrow and shallow that they expose the little nerve endings, that's the same reason that scrapes sometimes hurt worse than a deeper cut. Just a theory, but I do agree with you, paper cuts hurt!

i dont find that to be a true statement.

i get papercuts all the time, and none of them hurt as bad as the time i slashed my hand open with some steel strapping.

i think the reason it might FEEL worse is that we tend to get papercuts on our fingertips and other areas that you are constantly touching and working with.
