He is just jealous. You are actually working, not just being given money by your parents. Your getting real working experience making what is pretty normal pay. Tell him to either be happy for you or to get lost.

I think your doing very well!. Your taking on the responsibility of taking care of yourself. I think your mom is great for giving you that opportunity "First hand". I'm thinking that your boyfriend says your taking the "Easy way out",because your learning from your mom,and not on the outside, (But) Learning Experiences start at home anyway!. He also doesn't like the fact, that you'll be making a little more cash then him. (But) maybe your expenses are more demanding then his. Your doing great with $8.00 an hour, and only 12 hours a week. Then your still going to school? (You go girl!). I commend you for being a hard worker, and all around achiever. Keep up the good work! (Love: Squeakers)

Keep doing as you are doing and dump him. ;o) Find a guy that really appreciates you and what a hard worker you are. He's probably jealous cause your mom has her own business where you could get a job. But the thing is your working not goofing off and getting paid. Keep up the good work. Your far from being spoiled. ;o)

I think it's time to consider a new boyfriend! Jealousy is a terrible thing....is there some reason he shouldn't just be happy for you?? I have a 17 year old daughter who is making $9.00/hr working a chirporactic assistant job...and going to school full time.....working the same job she's had since she turned 15. Shouldn't matter who you work for.....he should be proud of you!

Maybe he should set some higher goals for himself instead of feeling sorry for himself that his gf makes more money than he does! (by the way, my daughters bf is a dishwasher and makes about $5.50/hr) and congratulates her on every advancement she makes!

Good luck with this one...may be time to reconsider your choices!

I think you have an opportunity that not many people have and hes a little jealous that you have it and he doesnt. You have great support in your mom. Your showing responsibility by working and paying her back money you owe. Dont let him bring you down.

You don't seem spoiled to me from what you've written. You seem like a responsible young adult, trying to go to college AND work to help pay your bills. Just because you get paid more than your boyfriend doesn't mean you're spoiled. He's just jealous that you make more than he does. Tell him to get over it or get lost.....You're doing great!

OH MY GOD hun...he needs to grow up..u are doing great..keep up the good work and if he can't understand that then get rid of him...
8 bucks an hour..where do you live, where i live minimum wage is 8.50 so i think that yu diong fine..u are doing things for yourself and not relying on anyone but your self and that's a good thing...don't worry about what he thinks..he's just jeooulus that you are doing so well and where as he might not be doing so well..
U just keep doing what you are doing and if it comes to it that you have to get rid of him. then that's one less thing that you have to worry about and you have that time for yourself..
Don't listen to what he's got to say..do what your doing

No....Your in school and only 18. My opinion is that you are taking the SMART WAY. Does he really rather you take a job that pays less and is more demanding?

He's probably just jealouse and feels overshadowed that you're doing better in life than he is. He also probably feels like youre independance is greater than his, so he's getting all emo about it. Just consider another guy that apreciates your work ethic and your ability to become independant! You deserve it!

It sounds as if your boyfriend is a little jealous, because you are accomplishing a lot right now!! Good for you. because you have so much on your plate.....maybe you should eliminate him so you can concentrate on your life. Good luck.
