Tell yourself you are going to go, but only for 10 minutes. Once you are there, the same inertia that kept you from going will now be working to keep you from leaving early. I had a hard time with this too. What i did is figured out how much I'm paying for the gym and calculate an estimated 'per visit cost'. Then i started to keep a gym log of when i went to track my progress. The financial motivator to "get my money's worth was great. Now I'm in a routine and if i don't go it really bothers me..I'm addicted!!

Sometimes getting there is the hardest part. I tell myself I just have to go and put in 5 minutes. After 5 minutes I am warmed-up and into it and do a full hour. I can only remember one time when I actually left after five minutes. I was really not into it that day. It was about 3 or 4 years ago.

I don't like gyms they are boring. Instead I used to do tae kwon do and boxing. I found the boxing workout to be really fun. Their are gyms here in los angeles that both women and men can go to for a boxing workout maybe you can find one in your area. As to tae kwon do it's a real mental workout because you have to learn forms (movements) and there are about a dozen to learn each one with several moves).
