Generally DUI's come with a fine and up to 6 months in jail. If you can pay the fines which are usually $1000-10000 depending on the state then no jail time. Your license will get suspended (hopefully) since you were driving drunk and could have killed someone. I hope they lock you up!

In Canada if it is a first offence and you don't have an extensive criminal record (and there are no injuries involved), you can expect a fine of 500-1000 and a year suspension. To get your licence back you will have to take a course that focuses on drinking problems and then you will have to get an ignition interlock put on your car. It makes you blow into the machine before the car will start and then periodically as you are driving.

Depends on your criminal history. Generally if this is your first time offense. Then you will lose your license, be placed on probation given a fine and sent to AA meetings. You should pay for a lawyer though to assist you in this.
If that is what your sentence is then you need to follow it completely. Otherwise you will be violated and you WILL do jail time.
Learn from this as it is a cheap lesson to learn. You could have killed someone. That is something you dont want to have on your conscience.

Probably not. I'm 16 and i got one with no license and i was on probation too. I got like a 275 dollar fine but nothing else.i was very lucky. Its different for adults though.
When my uncle got his first one he got his license suspended for awhile and had to pay a reinstitution fee.Its around 450 dollars.I live in OH though so that may be diffrent too. doubt you ll get jail time.Good luck in court.

I hope so, drivers under the influence are usually let go with a little more than a slap on the wrist, they don't learn the hard lesson, next time you could kill someones child, mother, father etc.

It's too bad you didn't feel like you couldn't breathe when you got into your car and drove drunk. Sorry, you won't find any pity here. Perhaps, you can contact another drunk driver (G.W. Bush) and see how he got away with it.
