Kitten sleep alot. If you cannot afford to take them to the vets I would suggest you find a way to get them to safe knew home soon because in about a year they will multiply into 25 cats. So if you think you have porblems now...
Then if you cant afford to do anything will all the enw kittens they will breed too and before you know it you will have 100 cats in your nieghborhood. After that happens you will start finding dead cats everwhere as they will start dying off from disease and such. So if you think you are doing these wild cats a favor now, you are actually hurting them and other cats that will be around in the future. Please get them fixed of get them to a rescue.

I got my cats from a Feline Rescue center in my town. One thing I noticed is they provided a "new cat" room for abandoned or lost cats to hold them for a period of time before integrating them with the rest of the cat population. The owner told me that when a cat is separated from it's "family" it actually goes into a depression. It does this either by hiding, eating very little and sleeping a lot more than usual. This can last anywhere from two weeks to a couple of months depending on how much the cat is being socialized. I used to think holding cats alot was bad for them. Now that I own two, I find the more I interact with and hold them, the more relaxed and adjusted they are. Be patient at first. Get them used to your presence. Then touch and hold them as they allow... but do it as much as possible. Within a couple of months the kitties that enjoy being held will invite it.
Caution! If the kitties tend to become "attack kitties" when you touch them, try not to retaliate. They don't know why you're flinging them from you, but they'll be harder in trusting you for the next month or so.. ha ha

They're probably fine: Cats tend to spend a lot of time asleep, and kittens do burn a lot of energy when they play. And yes, they probably do miss their mother. But that shouldn't be a problem since they are eating solid food.
You should make sure they at least have rabies and feline leukemia shots. Believe me, a sick kitten is a very sad sight! If you can't afford it, try giving them to someone who can.
Good luck!

I wouldn't worry too much about them. Kittens are just like kids- they need plenty of food, and plenty of sleep! Cats spend a lot of their time sleeping as it is, and that amplifies when they're babies. You did a great thing by taking them in- good luck!

yes kittens and cats sleep all the time, they are more active at night. the more time you spend with them the tamer they will become. if you plan on keeping them , then you have to take them to a vet. they need shots and a check up , and eventually spayed or neutered. PS mother may not be around. but at 8weeks is when they become weaned , so she probably isn't looking for them now, that is awesome that you are taking care of them.

You didn't say if you had toys for them or things for them to climb on - if not get some and they just might be tired of being pined up all the time to - kittens are like kids they need lots of room to play

seperate that food! Keep a bowl full of kitten food available 24 hours. Feed them moist in the morning and evening. No milk!! It is bad for them. Dehydrates them. They sleep alot so it is normal. Get them used to being touched now. Take one with you at a time and hold them and love them.
