Get x-rays taken. A dental surgeon can tell from these if your wisdom teeth will have to come out eventually, and the sooner the better as they can cause problems if they are impacted. Btw, you should really see your dentist every 6 months.

It depends. I used to think (and still do) that there was some conspiracy among dentists, like a new fad to take out wisdom teeth or something, cuz it seemed like everyone was having it done! You don't HAVE to get them removed if it's not advised to. Usually your dentist will tell you if you should. Some people don't have room for them to grow in without causing problems with all of your other teeth. I was one of them. Also, it's better to have it done BEFORE they start causing problems. And then, you don't ever have to worry about it again! They say the longer you wait, the harder it is. So if you do see the dentist, and they advise that you should, you really should see about getting it done. But I do recommend talking a lot to other people about it, to see about who to go to to have it done. I was the first in my family, and my parents did not care for the surgeon at all after it was over. So they asked around more and got some other people's opinions, and found someone else for my brothers. Should you need to have it done, good luck with it.

Most people's mouths are not big enough to hold the wisdom teeth properly and they will shove the other teeth forward. Yes, pain, too. You should just see the dentist and have them take xrays. Then they'll know if they are impacted and how the other teeth are effected by them.

No, you don't HAVE to get them removed- I still have mine and have no problems with them. My dentist told me that as long as you don't have any problems with them you can keep them. I had 4 teeth pulled when I had braces so I think I had a little more room in my mouth than some people, but it all depends. I think some people also get them removed to avoid potential pain in the future. Have you talked to your dentist about this? He/she could probably tell you at your next cleaning if you should get them removed.

Not all people have to get their wisdom teeth removed. If you have enough room in your mouth and they are not effecting your other teeth, then there really is no reason to have them removed. I had to have mine taken out because there wasn't room in my mouth and they were growing in sideways and cutting into the sides of my cheeks.

I wouldnt say you have to I have all mine still, if they grow straight and are not causing any pain in your mouth and clashing with other teeth, you can let it grow out and have extra teeth, a tip for you if they grow and rub against other teeth, remove the tooth/teeth its growing under, against or in the region of but dont remove the wisdoms its more painful...

If your teeth come in straight and do not crowd out or impact your other teeth, then there is no reason to remove your "wisdom" teeth. Just realize they are harder to keep clean, but it isn't impossible.

No you don't have to, I'm 44 and I have all of mine and my teeth are perfectly straight. It just depends if you have enough room in your mouth for them. And they do hurt for a long time as they are growing out.
