The biggest current gap in science seems to be this: "What caused the Big Bang?" (Some may have hypothesized, but evidence remains hard to gather.)
But even assuming that God the creator caused the Big Bang to occur, there's no reason to assume anything else about God. Thousands of religions have arisen on this planet, and each has described God differently, sometimes vastly differently. Why would you assume your faith has a greater claim on God's nature than any other?

Those of you who assume that I'm promoting the idea of God, never fear. I'm asking those who already believe what gives them the audacity to claim knowledge of their God's nature. I haven't turned in my freethinker's society membership card.

That's exactly the problem.
Most religions know exactly about him and have counted the wrinkles of his face and the number of his hairs on his head and of his beard. That's the problem.

Listen the only way I me and I am not claiming this for no one else just Me....Religion that is a miss consumed word from the word go...I believe in God all mighty....And I am not of no Specific....Religion...If it is OF GOOD and their is no wrong in it no were Then what is the Problem....Why is God so talked about and questioned so often.....Yes and you being of one of those religion.....Your appian is one of many But let me bring something to your attention Are you old enough to remember the Beatles...John Lennon....He made a comment that the Beatles were going to be bigger than God....Were is John Lennon ....Some one murder Him Out of no were You dont challenge God I would be careful.....And need to here some more...What about Mahmoud Aile One of the greatest Fighters of his time Look at him today he said he was bigger than God in a comment one time Look at him today only thing is God himself let Him live so he would be a living example that you dont dare challenge me ...Because God Knows some of you have to SEE to believe so I would again say I would be very careful what you say about God....In your statement you said Quote Their is no reason to assume anything else about God You had better watch it....And give me an up date own your life down the road.... God may use you for people to see to believe...And every one each person own this earth has a different relationship with God ....I dont care who you are....That is why they describe Him different....you no why so vastly different...Because some are just learning their relation between god and themselves ...And some have been their for months and some 6 to 12 years But the ones that have been their all their life's is the ones that can tell the story because they have lived it....So some us us no more and some less ...Faith is something between the indavigual and God ...meaning what you ask of God if you believe in what your asking for will be done...and nothing or no body can stop it that is one nature of faith another one is asking of God and 2 or 3 mins Later worrying about weather he is going to see you through....that is very low faith...And then their is one were if their is a problem...you pray and ask and and it will be done...and it never crosses your mind from the minute you asked...that is a faith we all must have ...it is called trust.....And true Faith ...And another way of telling you is this...There is 3 kinds of faith .Factual Faith Every Person has this Faith:Seeing is believing Because you have seen you have faith: Meaning you have to see to beleive.Temporary Faith It flares up quickly but fails to endure meaning it has no root to it and endureth just for a while And Saving Faith This Faith moves beyond an initial response and an understanding of truth to commitment for the obedience to the faith.....God Bless the U. S. A. And Israel and all the People of the World.......

God is not bound by religion.
Its we human, who are bound by the religion.Religion is like a pathway. The pathway to realise, experience and attain Godhood. But the point to be noted is that there are different pathways leading to the same entity called God.
What is the correct pathway? No one can proclaim that. And if some one tends to do that, its out of his or her ignorance.
If one were to study the major religions of the world, he would be surprised to know the similarity of the message.Such people are hard to find. They are few in number who have experienced the similarity of all religions. They are outnumbered by fanatics and by people who are really ignorant.
At the end of the day, what counts is the faith in the lord. You dont need a religion to do that.Religion is just like a law, a rule book, a guide to look upon and follow. Its like a pathway. Its foolish to cling to the path, then to use it for what it were meant for.

I think the concept of God is something that lives in yourself since you were born. You don't have to believe in someone or something just because the other people believes. Of course each religion wants to explain God the best way as posible and every "god" tries to be better than the other ones, but you know that religion implies political, territorial and economic interests, and often it is used as an excuse to justify the superiority of a country or a race.
Religions are too many. God is only one.

Well as far as denomination goes I think it's all a matter of how you perceive and translate the Bible. I choose my denomination by what I personally believe about God and how I interpret the Bible. It's not that I think my faith has a greater claim on anything, everything for me comes down to personal convictions. I'm not one of those people that goes around smashing everyone else's religion and denominations because they are not mine. They believe what they believe, great for them. And I will choose to live my life in a way that matches my own personal convictions and beliefs.

In actual fact , there is only one God in regardless of religions (Only God's religions like Christianity and Islam) . The different definitions of God varies as from the interpretions of human themselves , I am rather sad to look at the misunderstandings arise in the world today. Can't everybody see the benevolence of God descending religion after religion for the sake of mankind
with the intention of uniting us as one. Is it God's fault or human
being themselves? Don't you think it is our sins and disobedience that make God keep descending commandments?

Well, since I am a Christian, I feel my faith is true because Jesus DID come to earth, He did die for our sins, He did rise from the dead - so that we can have eternal life, and He is returning to take the faithful with Him to glory. Not just the Bible, but all of history supports this. God Bless you and yours. However, I am a non-affiliated Christian, as I feel that Christianity is a relationship with God the Father through Jesus the Son, in conjunction with the Holy Spirit. Peace and Love.

Actually, that's not a gap in scientific knowledge. There does not need to be a creator of the big bang, and it's fallacy to claim so.
It's also completely unscientific to make a leap to a supernatural explanation without any empirical evidence.

Why even bother yourself to ask questions that you will never understand and are not asked with an open mind or an alternate motive or meaning. God exists for me because I believe in him. What I do not believe in is organized religion because it is man-made and petty to me. Religions and denominations are structures created by man to group or box in certain classes of people, they are influenced by popular society and brainwashing since birth. Human nature is always looking for the label. I assume my faith has a greater claim because its what works for me, plain and simple

It's all taken on blind faith. There is no real argument that can supercede another. In order to be religious you have to be willing to dwell in ambiguity and turn a blind eye to logic and reasoning. So, it's more of a crap shoot. You have to whole-heartedly blindly delve into your religion/denomination of choice and follow through if religion is what you need for peace of mind. My advice, "free yourself from yourself"
