How would they express them? Would an affectionate plant rub against your leg? Would a horrified weed shriek if you had a sprayer of Roundup weed killer? Would your lawn beg for mercy when you took out the lawn mower?

I think there is enough to worry about in the world without having to avoid hurting plants' feelings.

They would be upset with humans for eating some of them and they would probably tell us to eat more chicken. They would probably give us a better understanding of the environment to let us know what it is that we are doing wrong and if there already is something wrong. Like the frog...they would let us know.

wouldn't matter if they belonged to me. They die shortly thereafter. I definitely didn't inherit my father's green thumb!
