I found a boar with a large lump on its hindquarter, when the lump was puntured, it had a noxious smell and a green puss.

probably just an abscess of some kind. Goats get them all the time and they turn up all over their body. If it is a stock animal, you can squeeze all the junk out and then fill it with iodine solution and it will usually heal up. If it is very big or deep it might need an antibiotic of some kind. If it is wild, not sure what to tell ya.

Its an infected wound or an abcess - probably from fighting with other boars. Very common. Toss out the entire quarter - its not fit to eat.

All of the above answers are true. Infected wound or abcess, throw out the surounding meat for at least 2 inches, for saftey I would go with the whole quarter.
