It is better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in man
It is better to trust in the Lord
than to trust in princes.
Psalm 118:8-9
Trust in the Lord
with all of your heart
and lean not on your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge Him
and He will make your paths straight Provers 3:5-6
Matthew 10:28-33 Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs on your head are numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
Trust in the Lord and do good
dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness
delight yourself in the Lord
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
commit your way to the Lord
Trust also Him, and He will do it
He will bring forth your righteousness as light
And your judgment as the noonday
Psalm 37:3-6

In "Leviticus" the ten commandment. "Thou shall have no other god before Me." I am sure there other versus that say that you should trust God, and only God, but that is the first verse that came to mind. Other that, it is truely a matter of what you believe is "the truth." If this is something that you want to know, read the Bible all the way through, and decide for your self. I am sure any minister would be more than happy to answer these questions too if i didn't give you what you want. I hope this helps.

Amen to what a poster said- YES the FIRST COMMANDMENT!
"You shall put NO other gods before me"
That means to not trust in false gods-
Isaiah 42:17
But those who trust in idols, who say to images, 'You are our gods,' will be turned back in utter shame.
Habakkuk 2:18
"Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
Matthew 4:10
Then Jesus said to him, "Be gone, Satan! For it is written, "'You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.'"
-And yes Psalms 118:8 is awesome- as the poster above quoted.

Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written:
“So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”
Romans 3:4
Do not put your trust in princes,
Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help.
Psalm 146:3

Psalms 146:3-6: 3 Do not put YOUR trust in nobles,
Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
4 His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground;
In that day his thoughts do perish.
5 Happy is the one who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in Jehovah his God,
6 The Maker of heaven and earth,
Of the sea, and of all that is in them,
The One keeping trueness to time indefinite,
Proverbs 3:5-7: Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. 6 In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight.
7 Do not become wise in your own eyes. Fear Jehovah and turn away from bad. 8 May it become a healing to your navel and a refreshment to your bones.
Genesis 1:1:" In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Jeremiah 17:5 & 7:(5) This is what Jehovah has said: " Cursed is the able-bodied man who put's his trust in earthling man and actually makes flesh his arm, and whose heart turns away from Jehovah himself."
(7):Blessed is the able-bodied man who puts his trust in Jehovah, and whose confidence Jehovah has become
Jeremiah17:9 & 10: (9) "The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it. (10) I, Jehovah, am searching the heart, examing the kidneys, even to give to each one according to the fruitage of his dealings.
Proverbs 29:25: "Trembling at man is what lays a snare, but he that is trusting in Jehovah will be protected."
Proverbs 28:26: "He that is trusting in his own heart is stupid, but he that is walking in wisdom is the one that will escape."
I added this Scripture because it stood out to me while I was writing this answer:
Proverbs 30-7-9: "Two things I have asked of you. Do not withhold them from me before I die. 8 Untruth and the lying word put far away from me. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Let me devour the food prescribed for me, 9 that I may not become satisfied and I actually deny [you] and say: “Who is Jehovah?” and that I may not come to poverty and I actually steal and assail the name of my God.

Jesus said he was going to prepare a place for us, "there are many rooms in my Father's house", if it wasn't true, I would not have told you.
