Revelation 20:9 & 10 "They went up on the breadth of the EARTH and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and DEVOURED them. The devil, who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are..." Revelation 21:1"Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first EARTH had past AWAY."

Dear sina, Many people state "this earth is hell." and they say this because they are trying to dismiss the reality of hell. we might like to think this life couldnt get any worse, but the suffeing in this life will be like heaven compared to the sufferings of those who remain in there sins and endup in hell. this life is the closest thing to hell christians will ever know, and the closest thing to heaven sinners wil ever know. This is How the ible describes the real hell.
"Shame and everlasting contempt." (Daniel 12:2)
"Everlasting punishment" (Matt 25:46)
"weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matt 24:51)
"fire unquenchable" (luke 3:170
"blackness of darkness of ever" (jude 13)
But who would be deserving of such a place? let me ask you a few questions......
Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; and the BIble says if we have hated someone, God sees us a murderers.
Listen to your conscience, When you die and God judges you by the standard of the Commandments on Judgement day, would you be innocent or guilty?
You know that you will be guilty, your conscinece bears wittness to the fact that these things like lying, stealing ect are all wrong and the Bible says because God is Holy and Just you will end up in Hell. That's not Gods will, he has provided a way for us to be forgiven. He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name and If you will Repent (turn from sin) and put your faith and trust in jesus, God will forgive you and grant you the gift of everlkasting life.
God Bless

Take the description of hell and compare it to the events and situations on earth, and they are the same.

Because there is some good on earth. There is nothing good in hell.
Because the Bible makes it clear that (1) hell is forever, and that (2) the earth and the universe are not forever. They will pass away.

You don't. But if earth is hell, focus on being a beacon of goodness and light, a la the Buddha and Jesus, and maybe others will follow your example.

Hell is a fraud perpetrated by religionists to beguile the unwary among us. As for the concept of "hellish," as in extremely unpleasant, some parts of the earth qualify.

Because we can receive God while we are here. If this was really hell there would be no way to God thus Jesus would never have come.

The word Hell has just been mistranslated. Study what the word actually meant in Biblical times. you will be surprised.
