I used to have a few pimples every once in awhile.
I started washing my face 2x everyday with vegan soap and I no longer have a problem with pimples.

DO NOT USE ACUTANE. Trust me. My friend did it and now has joint issues. I would suggest a good exfoliant. Not where you scrub your face, but one that works from being absorbed and exfoliating from within. The girl that answered Acutane is correct. You do have cystic acne. That is where the acne is stuck underneath your skin and is unable to loosen up and leave. I suggest getting an exfoliatant from a Dermatologist. AFA, Obagi, La Roche are all good products. They all come with an exfoliant made to loosen up those keratin plugs that you have. If you can't go to the doc, a lot of companies are now selling at CVS, Rite Aid, and other drug stores. Go to the stores and ask about Derm grade exfoliants that they've just received (it just happened within a month). I think La Roche is now over the counter so you can get their stuff. Another great place to go is Sephora. They have higher grade cleansers that will knock that out. A quick fix is to get a mask and leave it on. The Sephora reps are very smart so if you tell them you have "Keratin Plugs" in your skin, they'll find you a good mask or exfoliant too. Good luck!

I've found a hot compress held on for 5 min. & off for 2 min. will loosen the bump and help to bring it to a head. Like it or not, that is the goal. Then use a zit cream with benzoyl peroxiode 3 times daily until its gone. DON'T PICK!

Thats cystic acne. I struggled to get rid of that for years and had tried just about everything and nothing ever worked for me (including home remedies) until I went on Acutane. If you can't find any home remedies that work I highly suggest going to a Dermatologist and seeing about going on this, but only if your acne persists I wish I had known about Acutane earlier. I wound up with bad acne scarring so don't wait til that happens to you.

I just answered your pale skin question so I'll answer this one too!
It can be drying but to me its worth it. When I get those kind of zits I put a glop of zit medicine on them before I go to sleep, they do shrink overnight that way and are usually gone at the latest, 3 days. People say to use toothpaste, but I find that extremely messy. It might just be me, but that's never worked for me either.

You obviously need a good acnecare solution, but you just can't use any labels or product lines. Much better, if you'll seek for an expert's advice or even browse this site http://www.upkb.com/acnecare.php if you want to learn more about different skincare treatments and products available.

Sounds like you have cystic acne. I had the same. It took a while, and a lot of expensive medication with horrible side-effects, but now I'm beautiful!
Ask your dermatoligist about "Accutane." If he refuses to put you one it because it's dangerous and science doesn't really understand how it works, stab him.

Believe it or not, I've had luck using nail polish remover to dry out blind pimples (I stumbled on it accidentally)! It reduces the swelling overnight and won't leave scarring.

Just keep putting a hot wet towel on it to open it up then apply an astringent, don't try popping it, it will look worse!
