I have looked into the Air Force, the Army, and the Marines, and they all tend to think that their branch of service is the best for becoming a pilot. I know why they think this, they have to fill recruiting numbers for the period, but I was hoping that there actually was a best answer out there and that maybe one of you could provide it.

I appreciate any thoughtful responses, thank you for you time!

The USAF is currently reducing the force by 40,000 people, so it may be harder than usual to get a pilot slot.

The answer to your question is less about what service is best for training pilots, and more about what service fits you as an individual, what their pilot's roles are, and what type of aircraft you wish to pilot.

I would suggest contacting veterans who have served as pilots in the various services - which would be best accomplished by contacting your local VFW or American Legion office.

Don't go through recruiters from the services themselves - recruiters are notorious sugarcoaters, and while there are many good ones, the bad ones have been known to stretch the truth (like a Navy recruiter that told me "Claustrophobia won't be a problem on a submarine...").

Hopefully, someone who has actually served will answer your question and give you more information.
