I love this type of thing!!! How about wrapping up a baby outfit and letting them open it for Christmas. maybe have a T-shirt printed for them that says "Greatest Grandma or Grandpa" and let them open that for their Christmas present or an early present if you can't wait to tell them. Or give them a Christmas tree ornament that says greatest grandparents or something to that affect to put on their tree?

I think by now your parents know that you and your boyfriend have been sleeping together as you both have been together for 7 years. You never mentioned if you live at home, have your own place or perhaps live with your boyfriend. It is much better to tell your parents now and be honest rather than not say anything at all. You should be confessing way before Easter Sunday, a very holy day in the Catholic religion. In my personal opinion, it is not wise to get married because you are pregnant. I am sure both parents may question your decision to get married because you are pregnant BUT I am sure both sides of the family will be happy for both of you with the anticipated new arrival. Keep us posted on what your plans are regarding telling your parents.

I LOVE the idea of putting booties on the turkey for Thanksgiving! That would be awesome. My husband and I are trying to figure out how to tell our parents as well. I am 6 weeks pregnant. Every year at the Thanksgiving dinner table we go around the table and each person tells what they are thankful for. This year, my husband and I are going to rig it so that I am the last person to go. When it is my turn, I am going to say that I'm thankful that I'm pregnant!

Have fun!!! And best wishes for your pregnancy!

Congratulations!

My husband and I told our families last year on Christmas day that we were expecting. My husband got me a gift certificate for a mother-to-be massage for Christmas. When we got over to my mom's house I said "Look what Rich got me for Christmas!" It took her a few seconds to figure it out, but the look on her face and her reaction was priceless. I'm an only child, so this is her first grandchild and needless to say, she was very excited. We did the same thing later that day over at my husband's parents house.

Either at Christmas or Thanksgiving give them a gift...a mini photo album that has on the cover grandparent's brag book or something similar (you can find them at baby stores or places like Target). When the open the present there is usually such a look of joy on their faces.

Congrats!
Enjoy the whole pregnancy and parenting experience it is wonderful!

My sister found a really cute poem on the internet about grandparents (written from the baby's point of view) and wrapped it in a box and gave it to them on christmas. They had no idea and when they opened it they had 3 daughters to look at to figure out who it came from :) If you can't wait till christmas, you could always give them a gift for a birthday, anniversary, thanksgiving, or a "just because". They will figure out the because soon enough :)

If you've had a sonogram or ultrasound, and have pictures, you could nicely frame copies of them and wrap them as a present to your families. I would suggest a frame with a baby-theme, since they won't necessarily want to display the sonogram or ultrasound, and the frame can be filled with a picture of your new arrival after the birth.

My friend told her parents by buying some booties, tying a note on it that said "Soon to be filled in 9 months" and left it at their door. It was very cute!

With thanksgiving coming buy them a card that says something about grandparents on it so when they open it you can let them know that you are expecting. My neighbours son did this to them and the look on her face was priceless!!!!!!!!!!

I read this a while ago...
Take them out to eat. But preplan with the restuarant. Make them bring out the drinks WITH the meal. When they bring the food, have them bring over bibs for the grandparents to be and have their drinks in baby bottles lol Should be one wild night!
