I got my girlfriend to co-sign me on my truck loan. I told her my credit was messed up due to identity theft which she believed. I told her I'd refinance the truck when the credit issue was corrected. I moved down south so she doesn't know where I am but she pays anyway and the car is insured through her policy.

She was a fat load who was never gonna lose weight and kept nagging me about my drinking and other women. It was so annoying, I'm gonna let her finish the loan. There are only 22 months left.

Is her insurance still going to be good out of state for awhile?

Until the policy expires and then what? You will have to get your own. And DMV will not allow it without both signatures. Something tells me she wont sign something for you again.
I hope her name is on the truck and that she reports it stolen, just to give you a hard time. She could call and have the truck taken off the road. Which I hope she does. She can pay the truck and not have it insured then you are illegal.

Sounds like you deserve it.
There has also got to be a way to take you to small claims court. I hope she is keeping records.
And THANK GOD you are gone!

That was messed up. Yeah, her insurance is good anywhere you go. Unfortunately, she can cancel her insurance policy on the car you are driving and say it was stolen since her name is still on the car. Be Careful. She can even just cancel the insurance policy. That is why I will never co-sign for anyone. Good Luck though!

First of all you are a real jerk to have done that. Being that she cosigned it she can still report the car as stolen. and no isurance is only good in other states for a couple of months depending on the state. You are a perfect example of why good guys can't catch a break!!!!

if she was smart she would report the car stolen and cancle the insurance your a jerk and need to take responsability for your own truck. oh by the way she can take you to court and make you back pay all the money you owe her and if she cancles the insurance on you your screwed.

If this is true, that is a horrible thing to do, if you think she is so unnatractive why were you with her, you are evil. And she will probably cancel her policy if she is smart.
