I was hoovering this morning in the front room when I had to move the coffee table out of the way. I held the hoover pipe in one hand and reached down to drag the coffee table back when I suddenly heard the hoover engine revving up. I looked at the end of the hose to find my cat's face stuck on the end of it. I quickly turned off the hoover, but now my cat's right eye seems to have swollen up pretty bad. Do you think it will go down, or will I have to take it to the vet?

you should take it to the vet just to be safe. They may tell you to watch where you put the end of the hoover. The cat may be blind now but the vet will help the cat alot.

Personally I would take it to the vet. The eye may have damage done that you can't see. Better safe than sorry. And don't worry if it has to be removed. Three different times and obviously three different cats, in my lifetime have had to have an eye removed. They get along fine with one eye just like people do. Not meaning to scare you but it can be a possibility.
Good Luck!

Those people that are lauging at this are really SICK people! This in no way is funny. The cat is probably in pain, take it to a vet NOW! This is not a simple thing, the cat could be seriously injured, the eye socket could be shattered! Go to the vet NOW!!!!!

Are U 4 Real???? C'mon! I don't know any cat that is stupid enough to inspect a running vacuum hose! Heck, if I even take the vacuum out of the closet, my cats flee to the nearest exit! The noise alone sends them running for cover! Either your cat is deaf or REALLY dumb. Cats are intelligent creatures...even the inbred ones aren't curious enough to do that. Now, be honest...did you harass your cat with the vacuum?? If so, turn yourself in and repent by giving your cat away to a loving home now!

If the cat appears to be in pain or distress then take it to the vet immediately.
Obviously it would be the right thing to do to get the cat checked out by the vet anyway, just in case, otherwise animal protection charities / societies would probably want to know........

I think you are full of bullsh*t, never heard such a made up story in my life. Ive had cats and they run from hoovers and also the suction would not do that, its designed for picking up dust.

Take the cat to the vet ASAP. Cause the vet is the only one that knows what to do . Good luck .

Telephone the Vet at once and explain the emergency or you may end up with a one eyed cat.
