Hey Nikki,

There are 67 matches in the Family Search Site. There are 5 matches at Ellis Island, where you can get an account for free - see ships manifests, etc.

Here are some other sites to try also. GENFORUM, you can talk to people interested in the same surname, Craig. There will be many people interested in the same information.

You should get your parents birth and marriage certificates. That will list your grandfathers birth location and date. Obituaries can be obtained from the library in the town where he passed away also. Very useful information.

Best of luck.

Yes. He and I used to go crocodile hunting in Egypt, right after the war. He was a tall, red-headed man who walked with a limp. He gave me a small bag of rubies as big as the end of a fat man's thumb to keep for his children, just before the last croc ate him.

Just kidding.

has 27 of them who died in the USA 196x - 2006. That shows you how common the name is. Without a birth date or death date and some sort of location, your question is impossible to answer.

Your great grandfather could have been born anywhere from 64 years ago to 260 years ago. English-speaking people from the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia all use these boards.

Location can be birth, death or marriage location. Town, county and state is the most helpful, if you know them.
