There is a guy, wow big surprise. Met him 5 months ago on a trip with a youth orchestra. He is amazingly handsome and talented (guitar woooo!) and intelligent and witty, and for by the end of the week we were close friends, even finishing each other's sentences!! He gave me his phone number and asked me to burn him some CD's over the summer. Two problems: 1) He lives like 40 miles away and 2) He does not seem interested in me as more than a friend, but everyone else thinks he is and was asking me why I didn't do something about it. So, like an idiot, I did. I asked him to a dance, and his answer was less than enthusiastic. "Eh, I would, but I live too far away........sry." Did he mean it? Is he a jerk? Should I even bother? GAH!!!!!!

I think you might be right only because if someone really likes the other then you would find a way to see each other.40 miles is nothing i am sure there is someway he could see you.Start talking on the phone for a while even the computer really get to know one another make those feelings sky rocket so he will crave to see you.If that doesn't work than most likely he is just wanted some cd's burned. How does he expect to get the cd's you burn?Anyway i hope i helped somewhat good luck and remember there r plenty of fish in the sea.bye for now.

That doesn't mean he is a jerk because he said no, 1 he does live far away, take the into consideration, 2 if you get a vibe that he doesn't see you as more than a friend than more than likely he doesn't. But don't disown him, keep him as a friend, than maybe one day down the line there will be a spark between the both of you.

Does not mean he was a jerk. Maybe all he wanted was to be friends. There is nothing wrong with that. Maybe he could have declined a little nicer. And hey you tried. Cant always get what you want. Good for you for going for yours.

If you want to remain friends with him, that should not be a problem. But if you are just interested in having a romantic relationship, then I would suggest you move on, being friends would just be to hard.

Yes you should bother, go for what you want otherwise you'll regret not knowing. He probalby is a jerk but either you hold that against him or you don't. 40 miles is a long way, is he that cute? my advice, don't take 2 steps if he don't take 1. either take 3-4 or none.

Guy here- ask him flat out if he is interested. Believe me- it saves time and heartache. Sometimes the truth hurts initially but it is better than dragging it out for months or longer. 40 minutes is nothing in my opinion so he is either indecisive or uninterested.

Well not everyone (me included) would bother with a relationship complicated with distance issues.

If he was interested by now you would know. I would direct your attention else where.
