All drugs should be legalised with strong health warnings about the risks, like with cigarettes. People take drugs because they want to not whether they are legal or not. If legalised it would bring in taxation and dramatically cut down the crime associated with drugs.

The drug suppliers and producers have more money than any government and will always continue to supply so why not get some benefit from it. Alcohol causes more social problems than illegal drugs yet we do not ban it because we know bans do not work, rather we control and tax the use, everybody gains ...drink if you want to and pay the taxman.

Legalizing marijuana would save the country billions in enforcement costs and generate billions of dollars in tax revenues. Unfortunately, the control of alcohol sales to minors has a poor record of success. The effects of alcohol are usually gone in a day or two. THC stays in the blood system for several weeks. Alcoholism is a major problem and drug addition is not far behind it. Maybe marijuana should be decriminalized, but I am not sure it would be a good idea to completely legalize it—it might encourage its wider use.

Nah, and believe me I feel for those people who have medical conditions and have been fooled into believing that m.j. is the only thing that will help ease the pain of their condition. The detrement to all countries who legalize mj would far out weigh anygood it would do for a few people with medical conditions. No country would be strong or productive. Look at tabacco.

no i find it sad that people feel the need to take any drug just to get through the day, meaning for recreational purposes that is. i have tried it ,no big deal! people have told me they take it to relax or chill out with mates, theres plenty of ways of doing that without putting **** in your body, you know. the fact that kids are into in big time the now is quite upsetting, cos if they r into it to chill out what will they be like when they are 30 or 40! you shouldnt need weed at such a young age surely!

yes
if you really dont like it, dont do it. smoking cigarrettes is awful to your lungs and causes all sorts of health problems, so why isnt that illegal?
alcohol isnt exactly brilliant either, look at the way people become antisocial from it, and health problems... so y isnt that banned?
THE POINT IS: its all good in moderation, if you abuse anything, you'l become unwell. Having Cannabis illegal means if someone wants it bad enough, they'l always find a way to get hold of it, same as if they banned alcohol and cigarrettes. I believe a joint now and again in moderation is fine, and it should be accessable to all, because its only those who go crazy and take one step too far and do things too much that have the problems..!

it should be legal and produced and sold commercially like cigarettes and alcohol rather than legal for home Grow, then it could be taxed, also if it is produced commercially the hemp by products can be utilised for natural product as opposed to petrochemicals - remember up until WW2 the use of hemp for manufacturing was widespread because plastic wasn't around (political pressure by dupont and the petrochemical industry is largely responsible for the banning of hemp not it's uses as a drug)

Weed should be as legal as alcohol and prescription drugs, yes. We spend too much money and time putting stoners in jail. Tax it and let them smoke it. They are doing it anyway and, as far as I can tell, it isn't hurting anyone anymore than drinking booze or smoking cigarettes. Toke up.

All drugs should be legal. Who is the gov't to tell me what I can do to my body. A feeling, whether elicited by a chemical or not, should not be illegal. Plus the illegality of the substances drives their price up, and creates all of the organized crime around them.

No way Dude. Marijuana is illegal in the United States even though it is just a misdemeanor for a small amount to rub on my chest for a cold.

It has less of an immediate effect than alcohol but in the long term it messes with your Brain and leads to paranoia among other things
