He's in the Dominican Republic. We'll live here for 2-3 years to save up money, and then move to D.R. where I won't have to work. (Who's complaining?) Here are the Visa choices I can think of:
1) If I get married in the D.R., would it take forever to get him here afterwards?
2) If we used a K-1 (Fiancé)Visa, would that take even longer to get him here?
3) Should I just forget all that and go for a Visitor's Visa (whatever form that is) to get him here with no separation time?

Thanking you in advance

K-1 seems to be the preferred sort; K-3 a second choice. Forget the tourist visa -- it could lead to a long-term bar on entry.

Best deal of all, that a friend of mine used: the fiancé wrangled a diplomatic job and came free of controls. By the time the job ended they were ready to go to the other country anyway.

I recently married a Chinese girl and I'm going through all of this stuff now. First of all option 3 is probably not legal. You could get him that visa and apply for the others after he gets here. Option 2 is probably faster than option 1. Be prepared for a long wait in either case. I have been working on my case since March and don't yet see the light at the end of the tunnel. If your plan is to move there anyway, why don't you just do that? If I had it to do over again I think I may have moved to China.

If you can easily get a visitor visa, do that then get married in Las Vegas, is perfectly legal.
If visitor visa is not easy then best way is K-1 fiance visa, maybe after that they give you the visitor visa and he can be here waiting for the paperwork in the mean time

Entering the US on a Visitor's Visa with the intent to marry & remain is illegal!! It is called Immigration Fraud. If it was legal, they wouldn't have bothered with the K-1 Fiance Visa.

The only time marrying on a tourist visa is legal is if it was a spur of the moment decision while in the US. You will be required to prove to immigration that you had no intent to marry & remain when filing for adjustment of status.

My friend just went through this getting his wife here from Cambodia...let me tell you that option one took him a year to get her here. K-1's get rejected...ALOT.
A visitors visa won't keep him here long and it won't allow him to work to help you save money.

Your best bet is option one, truthfully. But you can try for the K1 first if you want.

Your best solution would be to contact a lawyer with experience in immigration, and they should be able to advise you on your best course of action. It depends on your individual situation.
