I was watching the news last night and they were discussing strange or unusual Halloween treats that had been handed out. One lady wrote into the news saying how she had found a coupon for a free weeks worth of Jazzercise in her kids' Trick-Or-Treating bag full of candy. This is funny, yet at the same time, I almost saw it as being an alright idea. (As long as it isn't EVERYONE giving these out! LOL) I'm into staying healthy and exercising on a regular basis, I don't have any children myself, but I do see where youth obesity is at an all time high and causing problems. I feel it is SO important for parents to teach their children at a young age the importance of a healthy diet and regular exercise.

-Do you feel that it was wrong for a person to include this in the childrens Halloween bag? Does it not promote a healthy lifestyle for todays youth?

-Do you feel childhood obesity is a problem in our society, and if so, how can it be changed?

I think it's cool - there's nothing wrong with it, if the parent doesn't want the kid to have it, then they can throw it out. Obesity starts at home, with mom or dad. Kids learn from example. My husband was obese all his life because his mom was a single mom who worked two jobs. She did what she had to do. But she refused help from family and friends to help with her boys. So they came home from school, raided the cabinets, and played videogames all night.

No adult supervision = kids doing whatever they want = kids being unhealthy, not just in obesity ways.

Childhood obesity is a huge problem. Personal I think part of the cause of this is due to the ingredients that these fast food resteraunts are using, that children seem to eat a lot of. Also I think that the ingredients to some of our favorite foods have been modified to cheaper, processed chemicals that promote weight gain. I think limiting your child's fast and processed food consumption, as well as how much soda they drink would help change the problem.

No it wasn't wrong in handing it out. There were some people handing out religious literature in their Halloween treats also that I heard about...hey it's all good. YES...children today do have an obesity problem....too much tv, movies, and video games....they need to go outside and run and play instead of playing games on the tv or computer....kids today don't even go places without a handheld game..or they are playing games on cell phones...Wake up America...go play hide and seek, tag, baseball...ride a bike or skate.

When I handed candy out @ my house I did candy bars. We did a Trunk or Treat @ our church and I handed out a variety of goodies.....suckers to taffy.

Obesity is a problem for all ages, classes, and backgrounds.

A simple to understand exercise handout might be good with some lower suger goodies.

And you hit it just right, Parents need to educate....

precise, i'm able to't write with my left hand in any respect! yet I do a lot of issues with my left hand, curiously i'm left hand eye co-ordinated. Or precise, whichever is the choice of what precise handers must be! I open doors, carry luggage and do maximum stuff with my left hand.
