After all, it IS prophecy! And if it's prophecy, it's practically written in stone, isn't it? And not only that, but since God's in control, if He wills for something to happen, it will. So why do some Christians think that He needs their help?

The problem with most prophecies is they rarely name a specific actor or agent. So, a lot of folks see themselves as those agents who will be the ones to fulfill the prophecy. You can accuse them of being wrong but how do you know? I mean, if you consider yourself God's right hand on earth, an INSTRUMENT of God's will made manifest, who do you think is going to be able to convince you otherwise?

Plus, God is in control but God has also granted humankind free-will. Prophecies often rely on a confluence of events, each event building on the previous. Some of these events are driven by humans, so God waits patiently while humans make their way, sometimes willingly, sometimes unknowingly, toward fulfilling prophecy.

Not this again. NAME ONE! Seriously. I see this question all the time, people referring to a "considerable amount of fulfilled biblical prophesy" yet they never give any specific examples. So, as I said, name ONE unambiguous prophesy that has been fulfilled. Keep in mind that the time of the original prophesy needs to be verifiable (you have to be able to prove that the prophesy actually predated the event) or the example is meaningless. Also keep in mind that predicting an event that can reasonably be fore scene by most people isn't particularly prophetic, nor are self fulfilled prophesies.

Good question! I think that some Christians (and members of other religions) feel they have to give their particular prophetic viewpoint a boost to encourage the rapture, Armegeddon, or whatever they feel prophecy is supposed to bring. I suspect that this is what motivates much of the Bush foreign policy.

Well if the christian is educated, he should know that God doesn't NEED anyone's help. He may know this but come across as though God needs him. Many christians I have known have had sincere intentions but have just gone about things entirely wrong.

If you are genuinely interested in finding out biblical concepts and ideas, don't let the messenger impact the message or your listening ability too much...muslims are human...jews are human...and christians are human. We all make mistakes as humans.

Why try to understand anything a Christian does? They already believe in talking snakes and talking donkeys, people turning into salt, and ghosts knocking up virgins.......no use trying to rationalize their thought process.

These silly little guys think that they have a patent on God.

In a way they do, at least on the God that they made up.
