i know this sounds very odd. i have the same same prob with my little one at times. i try not to make a big thing out of it and when she goes for a wee tell her to try for a poo and if she does that every day it wont hurt any more. try bribing her with a treat if she goes. you could try and make her laugh and take her mind of it when she is on the loo by telling her to make silly faces as she squeezes and say things like you smelly madam she will end up laughing and before you know it shes been. good luck

Healthy diets aren't necessarily the best diets....

You want high in fruit, 2 servings a meal. High in vegetables, 2 servings a meal. Start the day with a high fiber carbohydrate (whole grain toast, oatmeal, or Bran Flakes). An 8 ounce glass of milk per meal (non-prescription stool softeners are calcium and rather than trying to get your 5yr old to swallow a horse pill make sure she's drinking lots of milk). It is best to use 2% or whole milk, growing minds need cholesterol. Also water is extremely important, make sure she is drinking at least 40 ounces of water per day. Limit proteins to a small serving at lunch and at night, stay away from cheese and peanut butter (both known to be good at clogging up the system). I also suggest snacks which include dry fruit. This diet allows for more than normal fiber. A healthy diet, to one person is not necessarily great for another.

For the immediate problem though, there are suppositories that take care of the problem almost immediately (or within a couple of minutes at least). When I went through this with my son, we got those from the doctor.

If you have been to the doctors and had her checked for hemorrhoids, and a colonoscopy done to make sure there is not something serious going on, then a very high fiber/ high fruit diet will keep her stools runny avoiding the problem of "it hurts" again.

I had hemorrhoids problems for different years. I was basically simply excessively embarrassed to go to a doctor or to the pharmacy to request a hemorrhoid treatment. At last I went to a doctor that tried to do everything in her power to help me, yet unfortunately the prescription didn't work. Surgery was impossible! By then, I was powerless, embarrassed and with just about no social life, so I've chosen to try something else. Then I discovered this method: http://treathemorrhoid.kyma.info I purchased this book on the most proficient method to dispose of hemorrhoids naturally notice it helped me a great deal! I don't feel torment anymore! I wish I had it years before. I can't accept how rapidly I got relief (just about overnight!) they've never returned and I don't worry about it anymore in light of the fact that on the off chance that they do, I know precisely what to do. After reading the book and making a move in 48 hours the ache, irritation, tingling and draining was gone. To my surprise I could permanently cure my hemorrhoids 100% naturally. Hemorrhoids are fundamentally engorged veins. The veins return the blood to the heart and those from the lower parts of the body work against gravity to push blood again to the heart. At the point when the blood becomes thicker because of one's absence of water admission, the blood gets pooled in the veins in light of the fact that blood is more hard to stream. This makes them get engorged and become bigger. On the off chance that this happens in the rectal area, it becomes hemorrhoids. I can assure you that I tackled my hemorroids problems with this system: http://treathemorrhoid.kyma.info It's definitly the most ideal approach to effectively dispose of hemorreoids.

My guy had the problem when he was around 3 1/2. I made grape Kool-Aid, but instead of water- used about 1/3 prune juice.

I also made brownies and instead of water used prune juice. The extra fiber from this should keep him moving.

In the meantime, give him some mineral oil. But be careful where she sits, she might leak a little. My pediatrician gave us colace but the taste on that was so bad, he would not swallow a drop, even when mixed in his food or drink

You can try all the natural remedies, i.e. prune juice, 1/10th orange juice to water solution, but if still there's still no luck, you can buy X-Lax from Tesco (not at all expensive). This is a natural laxative which can be used by children. The great thing is, it is just like a chocolate bar so tastes great!!! (You only need 1/2 a tiny square though!!!)

Most kids don't drink enough water or eat enough fibrous foods. Maybe you can make a game out of how many glasses of water she can drink - in an hour or morning. Eating unpealed apples, beans, broccoli dipped in ranch dressing, fresh fruits, etc. A stool softener could also help hydrate the bowel. She may need an enema to keep her from getting impacted.

My daughter is 3 and I had to use a thing called Milk of Magnesia. It is harmless and it makes em go poop. My daughter has been constipated since she was newborn and this deffinatly helped. You need to give them a couple of teaspoons before it starts working. Even before she would not poop on the toilet, but now she will! My doc said it is not harmful to them, and they will also not reley on this when they get older (like most things do!)

Prunes, pears, peaches, apples, in regular or juice form. If that doesn't work, try giving her a warm bath and massaging her abdomen. It might relax her enough to let go. But, be prepared to clean your tub in the even she lets go right there in the bath.

Syrup of Figs - Im not sure you can get it in UK but it helped me when I was growing up and neglected the call of nature. Or feed her dried prunes or fruits, she will have no choice but to go to the toilet when it calls.
