Hi there...consider either Petfinder http://www.petfinder.com or Craigslist Reno: http://reno.craigslist.org/pet/ . People post here daily so be sure to check back often.

"A few", wow you're going to be busy.

There are lots of places to find "free" kittens (newspaper, on-line, etc.) but keep in mind that the "free" kittens really don't end up being "free".

If you adopt a kitten from an animal shelter they will already be spayed or neutered, have had their vaccinations, been tested for aids and leukemia and probably already be microchipped.

If you take a kitten to the vet and have everything done there, it is usually going to cost you a lot more.

The animal shelters have so many kittens and older cats that are loving and desperate for a home, please consider one of them!

Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

If you want good, healthy kittens your best bet is a shelter where the kittens have been wormed, tested for feline diseases, checked by a vet and frequently have been spayed or neutered and started on basic and important kitten shots. The adoption fees cover these services and are usually half of what it would cost you to have those services performed on the "open" market.

Your taxes support the operation of your local shelter - including the rescue of abused or abandoned cats and dogs in your community.

If you adopt a kitten who is "free" you only support ignorant people who do not spay their cats and contribute to the tragic overpopulation of companion animals in the US.

Why? To sell them off again? What does one person want with a litter of kittens?

You could always try a classfied ad website like Craigslist or check in your local newspaper. That's worked for me in the past.
