And what's your martial arts, gymnastics, or cheerleading background? If it isn't too much trouble, some tips too.

I've somewhat been trying it on and off for the past 3 months. One of my instructors said to swing my legs faster or do a regular cartwheel before, for more momentum. That ended with me kissing the floor,a tip from me to you; Don't ever close your eyes while doing this.

Sorry,I meant to add that in too! An aerial is also considered a no handed cartwheel.

I think it took me about a month and a 1/2, or maybe just a month. My problem was I kept dragging one of my hands when I was coming up.

I love aerials, they are very fun. Once you get the,, its hard to stop or forget. You just, have it! In gymnastics, once you have an aerial, you do consistent aerials, like, 8 in a row going on the diagonals.

Its not really about how fast, though you can't be slow or you won't get the right momentum to go over, and thus, you land on your face!

Keep tight, make sure to get an extra UMFP from the foot you come off of, and keep the balance. It is easier to do an aerial when you know how to do a cartwheel on the balance beam.

I will never learn an aerial unless I lose my job and senses and join Cirque de Solei. I'm a freestyle fighter, a martial artist, and a student of kajukenbo. The day an aerial will help me defeat an opponent is the day I'll decide to learn it. Otherwise, if I go against someone who does an aerial on me, I'll rush 'em, take 'em to the ground, tap 'em out, pick 'em up, and send 'em back home.

I'm not bitter or anything but all martial arts is a lifestyle, a way of living. Leave the parlor tricks to others. In the martial arts, we practice humility. Jumping around like monkeys on crack because you can doesn't tell me anything about your skills. It tells me you need to go to Broadway, MTV or Las Vegas.

I'm not sure what you mean by an "aerial".

I have spent years studying the martial art called Wing Tsun. There are no acrobatics involved in WT, as it is purely a fighting skill, not a sporting / audacious art.

never, I don't study dancing. I don't study some gay XMA crap. I'm not into tricking as it has no place or application in REAL martial arts.

go to the "ballroom dancing" section as you have obviously placed this question in the wrong place.

whats the point of a no handed cart wheel in martial arts. You do that in front of someone and they will just kick you after you spin your head around.
