I think it is the fear of the unknown.
My biggest fear of child birth was if my baby would be ok.

The pain, fear something could go wrong for mom or baby. Some women still die in childbirth. My sister had heart problems during trying to give birth and had an emergency Cesarean. She was told she could die if she had another one, she decided not to get pregnant again. I have a lung disease (Cystic Fibrosis) and was told I could die in childbirth, but I was blessed with twins!

The pain is no great thrill, but after nine months of discomfort and pain, all you end up with is a screaming, sucking, poop-machine that will probably just grow up to hate you anyway. There are enough people out there already having more children than the planet can support, so do the right thing and don't have kids at all.
