When's the wedding???? A Theme would be great if you could incorporate the time of year the wedding is.... I think doing the whole tea party theme is so cute. Everyone can wear pearls and big ugly hats....... it might sound lame but its cute and funny and the pictures you get will last FOREVER and will be priceless. GL

You can have so much fun with a shower. You can do a kitchen shower, household shower, sexy nightgown shower. You can do a charity shower, The shower can be a garden theme. I have even been to a cooking shower. This is where others teach brides to make basic recipies and their favorites. I know people who have had a linen shower. Just sheets towel blanket that kind of thing. I have heard of a homemade shower, where all the gifts had to be homemade. The most important thing is to have fun. Talk to the bride and see what she would be interested in.

For my friends shower we did a "this is your life" theme... and asked each guest to bring something that had a significant meaning to the person and the bride. We made a scrapbook and each item that the person brought was incorporated into the scrapbook, so each guest had a page in the book. Also, we inserted blank note cards in the invitation for each guest. So instead of including a store bought greeting card with the gifts, each guest wrote a special message, memory or advise to the bride. It was very sentimental to the bride and everyone at the shower complimented the idea.

What time of year is the shower? If it's around Christmas (or another holiday) why not theme it around that?
Another idea is go with something the bride really likes. I had a wedding shower for my best friend in September. She really likes classy wine parties so I had a "wine tasting" themed shower. I had it at at winery and had wines out for people to sample. I also gave the guests engraved wine glasses as favors.

My friends and I discussed having something like a 60's based whatever (birthday, wedding)... but I guess it would fit into a shower too! Everything should be based on the 60's like dress codes, decorations, and most expecially, the MUSIC! You could take black and white pictures, and use LPs instead of CDs to play your music. To make it more interesting, you could make it a slumber shower and have all the ladies spend the night, then you could watch 60's movies. for more options, check out the web, they have a million and one sites for that. Right now I'm hooked on to www.theknot.com for my wedding and etc ideas. Check it out if you've got the time

Depends, do you want a sweet romantic theme, or a funny one? I like the whole ball and chain theme. But also lingerie showers can be a lot of fun.

A good theme is "Yeah yeah, you're the Princess, we get it already." Or you could take a cue from the theme of the wedding. The bride will already be excited about her theme so she'll naturally enjoy it.

I've only been to a few, but a great one I went to we called Alphabet Soup...each invite was given a letter, and unless there were a TON of invites, each person got their own letter, no doubles...The gift you got the bride had to start with that letter. It was a lot of fun shopping for the gifts and even more fun seeing what everyong bought!! Have fun!

I had a shower for a young lady in our church. The theme was a tea party. I had the ladies bring their favorite tea sets. We set the tables with lace cloths and a tea set at each table. We had red rose buds in vases at each table and red balloons tied to each bud vase. We decorated the dessert table with long strands of beads entwined between the plates of goodies and placed the plates on different levels on the table. We served different types of teas at each table, we put the tea bags in pretty trays or bowls along with spoons and sugar, etc at each table. We served all types of lovely cookies with the teas. It was a smash hit! Try it!
