I have a great friend who lives in Kenya. I would love to be able to visit there. I had the opportunity to go but didn't have the money to make the trip. Our church is actually helping to get wells put in there. So far there are 2 we want at least 2 more.

There are very few countries that the U.S. government forbids its citizens from traveling too. (North Korea and Cuba are two exceptions.) What you are referring to are travel advisories that warn Americans about unstable countries where their lives might be endangered. Perhaps if enough Americans and other foreigners stop going to Kenya, then your country will make some necessary political and economic changes. Go to see the movie: The last King of Scotland". It's about Uganda and Idi Amin. You don't want Kenya heading in that direction...

No one is against you, our government warns us all about any place in the world that has threats, this is just to let people know who travel a lot all over the world. Kenya is beautiful and people will always visit there, so I wouldn't worry about it.

No one is against Kenya by saying it is not safe for Americans to travel in Kenya. It is just a warning that tourists have been assaulted there.
I would like to know where it is safest to travel with my family as I am sure you would too.

Mexico has travel advisories against it in the State Dept. It depends on how much control local law enforcement appears to have. In Spain and the UK it was a matter of 'one time' events, in the State Dept's opinion.
It isn't a matter of 'being fair' to foreign countries, it is a matter of warning our citizens of danger.

No one is against you, but the US does make statements about which countries are considered safe/unsafe for its citizens to travel to. I know that the State Department did tell travelers not to go to Spain or UK when those countries had unsafe conditions.

I think it's advice not a law. I haven't heard that you absolutely CANNOT go anywhere that you want.
