Heat the Thermos up first by filling it up with boiling water for 5 mins before putting the soup in, and make sure the soup is poured in boiling hot and fills the whole Thermos. A Thermos only reduces the rate of heat loss, so if it's cold when the soup goes in then it will immediately cool the soup a little as it gets poured in, and if the soup isn't warm enough to start or there is a bit of cooler air in there too then enough heat will be lost by lunchtime that the soup will be cold.

If your soup was piping hot when you poured it in ,providing the top seal was tight, well chances are the flask has been dropped or had a good bump at least. take of the top, and the the plastic collar, carefully take out the glass insert then check the glass body especially the small em" for the want of a proper name for it "nipple if it is broken. I'm afraid you'll have to get a new flask My advise is get a stainless steel flask you can drop them and your soup will still keep warm all day.

I don't know what you did, but here's what I do:
I boil some water in a tea kettle, pour it into the thermos, let it sit out for a while, and pour out the water. Immediately fill with your soup, and go on your way. It's best to do this as the last thing before you leave for wherever you're going. Then you have the best chance of hot soup when you open it to enjoy.

Heat the thermos thoroughly first with boiling hot water, leave it for a few minutes - while you heat the soup to piping hot. Empty the thermos and immediately refill it with the soup and put the lid on tight straight away. That should help.

Did you seal it properly? Was the flask warmed up first with hot water? Was the soup very hot when put in the flask? How many hrs was it left in the flask ? 5hrs is the approx time before it goes cold!!
Try wrapping the flask in some foil next time as this will hold in extra heat for longer.

If the thermos wasn't full to the top, it won't stay as hot, another tip is to warm the thermos before putting in the soup or coffee etc

If you don't warm your thermos(using hot water) your soup will get cooled down as soon as you poor it into the thermos and filling it all the way to the top helps as well.

You must make sure you have heated the flask through prior to adding the soup, do this by adding boling water to the flask, about 1/2 full, put lid on and shake to let the heat get into it.
Then tip out and put your hot soup in puting lid on asap.
