Reading the Bible is the fastest way out of believing in god.
Athiesim tends to come through STUDY and THOUGHT, rather than a BLIND BELIEF system.
Atheists question what they don't understand, instead of blindly following others like sheep.
Us Atheists actually take time to research our beliefs instead of allowing someone in a church or anywhere else to tell us what to believe
most christians are only told about the happy fluffy benevolent god. While us atheists have looked at it ourselves and seen god for what he relay is a violent, racist, sexist, petty, jealous fictional character. Say no to jesus
Most athiests have read their way out of xtianity. SO they obvioulsy know more about the bible than the typical xtian, who hasnt ever read thier bible all the way through even once, let alone the ten times or so I have.

I am a Christian, through and through. And yet I could find far better, far more erudite atheist "comments" than these. (I use the word "comments" only charitably here.) The arguments made by Richard Dawkins, Robert Buckman, and Stephen Jay Gould are sophisticated and an interesting challenge to the believer. But this... this stuff is easily shot-down sophistry, ridiculous redneckery most atheists I've met would be embarrassed by.
Who wrote these comments you found? Follow my suggested reads, and you'll be able to do much better than this.
I find it funny that, even though I am a believer, I would make a better atheist than most of the ones who interact at Yahoo Answers.

it's one thing to read the Bible, but the knowledge comes in understanding it and studying it. The passages and the parables cannot be taken at face value because they were written in a time of which we have limited understanding. Only through indepth study ie. a learning or study Bible can you really understand what the message means...could you build a car from scratch by jut reading a manual, not lilkely because you would need the 30,000 parts and know how and where they went...

Basic generalities.
Many Christians are well read.
Many Christians have studied (studied not just read) the Bible and they are still Christians.
Many Christians know more about the Bible than Many Atheists through their Research.
Atheism and Christianity are both belief systems. One is right, one is wrong. I choose Christianity based on my STUDY and THOUGHT over many years and RESEARCH into other religions.

Athiesm isn't a belief, it's a lack of a belief.
Faith comes from within, not from some book or from some preacher on TV.
If you have in fact read the entire Bible ten times, you should question why you are being drawn back to it time and time again.

You have a right to choose your belief system is about all I can say here. But, I completely disagree with all of the above and I do believe in God, and have studied my faith for many years and it still rings TRUE for me.

I have read my Bible through and believe every bit and I know Christians that have read it many more times than you and believe. It is all in how you read it. You read to try and disprove and we read to believe. Keep reading it maybe you'll see the light!
