the uk and GB, where is the difference between them?

The UK includes Northern Ireland, whereas Great Britain just means the mainland, including, in most contexts, close coastal islands.

cdrother is correct. Great Britain is mainland - England, Scotland and Wales and associated islands. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland speaks for itself.

the UK is only England wheras GB includes England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
