You need to let them hang longer in order to get rid of the dog taste. I suggest at least 3 weeks. If you don't have 3 weeks, then you need to use a very strong marinade, and let them soak at least 48 hours.

Having extensive knowledge of both canine and smurf cuisine, I think they taste nothing alike. If smurf is to compared with anycommonly eaten food, I would say it is most like roast duck, although a bit leaner. As the Chinese know, smurf can easily be substituted for duck in Peking Duck, and only the most discerning diners would know the difference. NEXT!

Smurfs actually share a common gene with dogs, giving them similar attributes. Along with the taste, if smurfs get caught in the rain they also smell like wet dog.

It is just like the wild ducks that live on a fish diet and taste like fish. Smurfs are carnivores who eat dogs so naturally they taste like dogs. Extra barbecue sauce on them will minimize that dog flavor if you find it objectionable.

They should always be sauteed, never grilled, the caramelization from grilling is what causes that canine flovor.
