You mind putting up where you found that, cause I can't. Besides, if it's in the Old Testament, shouldn't you also ask the Jews this question too? They follow the teachings of the OT too.

A lot of the laws were reversed in the time of Jesus and the Apostles and the early church.

The law which was given to the Israelites prior to Jesus' coming was to teach them the seriousness of disobedience and help them to understand God. I do not believe that we are to enforce the law on our children as Christians (I am also not an Israelite). The consequences for unrepentant disobedience are still the same (death) to all children of God but Jesus will eventually enforce it only upon those who refuse to be repentant and learn obedience from him.

Hi Bobby, you have it mixed up here, the early Jews had this as one of their laws and it was an adult punishment for adultery, and prostitution, and was not used on children.

They use to do that in the really old days... That was before Christ.. But it says that if someone strikes you on one cheek don't strike them back but turn and give them the other cheek..... And that's what we're supposed to do..

For danicolegirl. Yes, the Bible does read, "Thou shalt not murder." But it also reads, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live."

You are quoting the Old Testament. Jesus Christ is the New Covenant - Jesus Christ is love. We are not under the Law or the Old Testament now - those are historical facts and we can learn from them - but there is Jesus Christ now - he is the Way, the Truth, the Life. He authored love and is a God of love. I hope this helps.

That's the Old Testament, blah, blah, blah is the answer that you will get from Christians.

In the next line they will quote Genesis, also from the Old Testament, to "prove" that God exists.

Go figure.
