You may want to check out Adage.com for demographics as well as freedemographics.com. There is a site that I use called Melissadata.com. All these sites will give you some type of demographics for advertisements.

Demographics play a HUGE part in advertising! Example: Go to New York City and you will see adverts for High End department stores and "Expensive" products; Go to BFE Kentucky and you will see adverts for WalMart and Hunting Superstores!
It's not only demographics, but also target audience. If you turn to the Style Network or Home & Garden TV, 95% of the ads you will see target Women. If you turn to ESPN Ourdoors, 95% of the ads you will see target Men.

I always think it is funny to watch daytime TV and see all the ads for personal injury lawyers and educational services, they obviously think that if you watch daytime TV you are either injured or unemployed.
